The Atlanta Braves

If Riley keeps hitting I’d probably flip him to the 2 spot. Would rather him hit 2 than behind Freddie

You guys know the ins and outs of the makeup of a batting order much more than I do, but...

Thoughts on Riley at cleanup?

Acuña
JD
Free
Riley

I like what I posted above cause I want RAJ-Freeman 1-2 and it alternates R-L throughout. I love Dansby but if Riley continues to mash, he’s moving up and Dans is the one who should go down some.

I’d be fine with that too. I just want our best hitters getting the most PA. Love what Dans is doing but he’s not one of our four best hitters right now.

But freeman loses chances to bat people in at 2... maybe keep him at 4 and bum p Riley to 3... JD at 2

Freddie is our best hitter and you want your best hitter at 1 or 2, especially if you have guys that are solid behind him (like we have).

Here’s a good article on lineup construction if you’re interested

There’s actually been more of a thinking to put your better hitter at #4 then #3 and it’s an interesting point. You either have your #4 hitter with a guy on base or can start a two out rally in the first or have hen start off to lead an inning.

I always thought 1,2 speed consistent hitting
Along with 7,8 and 3-6 power with consistent hitting toward the latter part

However , I think it would be interesting to divide the lineup into 1/3’s with that 3rd guy being a power guy and L,R it as much as you can.
