I Wish...

I could pick 10 games out of Pete Carroll's career that make him look like an awful coach. If they get to a championship game this year they'll be competitive. In 2004 they simply ran into a much better team and Adrian Peterson was hurt.

the difference in pete carroll and bob stoops is, carroll rarely loses the big game.

When you are ranked in the top 5 and still very much in the mix for the National Championship every game becomes big. Carroll has lost several in that situation. That UCLA game a couple of years ago was about as big as it gets. Win and play for it all. They lost.

I don't think the added competition is really the problem for the Noles. The FSU teams from the nineties would still be winning the ACC every year. These guys just got done losing to UK.

this year yes, but in the prior years they would still have trouble.

usc would beat oklahoma 8 out of 10 times.

we can speculate all night. my point is getting to the championship game means nothing if you don't win it. it's the same with the conference championship game. you can defend fulmer all night by saying that he was in the sec championship last year. when was the last time that he won it?

I'm pretty sure that I'd rather be Jim Tressell than Fulmer.

tOSU may be humiliated by the media, but coming up short in a BCS title game is a whole lot better than trying to contend for a Peach Bowl win.

I can't think of any ACC team in the last few years that any decent 1990's FSU team would worry about. Who's going to stop those Noles? Wake Forest?

i think the majority of the acc teams have slipped, actually. wake forest being the exception.

that goes without saying. for the last time, i'm not defending ut or fulmer. nor am i comparing the bcs game to the peach bowl.

I'm just saying, I'd rather have the problem of losing in a big game than having a problem of just winning and being competitive overall.

anyone that doesn't think that guy can coach, should be on hat's ignore list.

I guarantee that Fulmer would struggle to win 3 games at Wake each year. For the resources and students they have, Wake Forest represents themselves extremely well in football.

Having the best record of six teams isn't much of an accomplishment. Being in the top 2 of 119 teams is.

I'm not sure anyone could possibly understand what you are talking about. You diminish Stoops' success and then exalt Jim Grobe.

i said stoops was a good coach, just overrated. jim grobe is a good coach, not overrated. just my opinion, i'm not always right. :peace2:
