I don't think it's a coincidence that the team whose coach uses that line as the last sentence of his comments on the first page of the school's media guide has won 1 National Championship and 5 conference titles since 2000 and currently resides at #1 in the polls.

and he will attain greatness once he learns how to get his team ready to play real competition in a bcs game.

He's an excellent coach, but that nickname of Big Game Bob no longer really applies.

that's actually laughable. that one championship should not exist. florida state should never have been the opposing team in that title game. that team should have been the miami hurricanes and they were two touchdowns better than the sooners.

Until recently (last year), the only legit competition was OU/Texas, and occasionally OKState will get a pesky little upset.

since last year you've had TTU, Kansas, and Mizzou emerge.

and mizzou beat them down in the regular season game.

two? if your trying to impress me, try again.

Only the SEC has more with three and LSU has won it twice. FSU, Ohio State, and Oklahoma have played in the BSCCG three times with each school winning once. You look at the losing, I look at the fact that they have played for the NC 3 times. How many times has UT played for it??

I'd also like to point out while were talking Vanderbilt University, that in the real world, grad students from Vandy vs grad students from other schools, take the same state license exams in professional areas and make the same salary in the real world. The difference being those massive amount of student loans hanging over Vandy grads heads, which is hovering around 45,000 a year to go there now. The point being, your either smart and can do your job and continue to learn and advance with your company or you can't. Where the degree came is relative and remains a mute point. The area of study for your degree is what's important. I'm just saying.

who in the h*** is talking vanderbilt university?

We wouldn't be having all of the fire Fulmer talk if his teams had won as many conference titles.

the man in your avatar is 5 times better than stoops. i like stoops as a dc, however.

It is pretty hard to argue that the guy who took over a program that had gone 12-22 under his predecessor and made them back into a consistent conference and national title contender isn't a top notch coach. He has won 82% of his games, 5 conference championsips, a national title, and is 27-10 against the top 25. It also looks like he is going to continue to roll on for the near future.

I'm willing to forgive a 4-5 bowl record, especially in light of the fact that 7 of them have been in the BCS.

that's great. however, there are guys out there who can win in the regular season and win the bowl games. i would go after those guys first if i was an ad.

ask ohio state how great playing for it is. once again, i know the history of ut football and phillip fulmer.

Probably pretty good considering they were one of the Top 2 teams in the country at the end of the year last year. Just think what we could do with a NCG appearance as far as recruiting and player development. Also, remind me of the cries for Stoops head coming out of the fanbase in Oklahoma. That's right, crickets.
