Bob and Pete have it made, no doubt. Playing in leagues with very little if any consistent competition make winning much easier. Although it will never happen, I'd like to see one of those guys take the head spot at UK. Opinions of greatness would diminish though each passing season.

Pete would struggle. I really think Stoops could succeed anywhere. Why? Because it wouldn't take him long to put a championship defense in place.

Pete could put the D together as well. KY would treat them a bit like Spurrier has been treated at SC. Even the coaches that they are, amassaing the depth of talent necessary to constantly compete at the top would be virtually impossible for many years.

Put either of them at SC and they would struggle just like Captain Stevie has.

I would carry Stoops from Norman to Knoxville if he would take the job.

Put Fulmer at South Carolina and the Gamecocks would be 3-9 every year.

Says the man who consistently carried water for Fulmer and claimed Saban wouldn't do anything of note at Alabama.

Are you saying the Big XII doesn't have competition for Stoops/OU annually?

Until we beat a Pac 10 team again it might be a good idea not to denigrate the level of competition in that league.

Saban has done much better than I expected. But that has nothing to do with your worship of Stoops.

Lets see where Alabama stands at the end of the season before we annoint Saban. They have looked really good SO FAR, but then again, it is obvious Clemson isn't very good and Georgia was extremely overrated.

Until recently (last year), the only legit competition was OU/Texas, and occasionally OKState will get a pesky little upset.

since last year you've had TTU, Kansas, and Mizzou emerge.

I'd also like to point out while were talking Vanderbilt University, that in the real world, grad students from Vandy vs grad students from other schools, take the same state license exams in professional areas and make the same salary in the real world. The difference being those massive amount of student loans hanging over Vandy grads heads, which is hovering around 45,000 a year to go there now. The point being, your either smart and can do your job and continue to learn and advance with your company or you can't. Where the degree came is relative and remains a mute point. The area of study for your degree is what's important. I'm just saying.

IDK, drubbing two top-10 teams and an SEC-west foe, while holding two lesser OOC teams to a TD or less would seem to suggest that the ship has been righted by St. Nick. . . .in a grand total of a season and a third.

If anything, to me, the turnaround is a little comforting, as I don't think there is reason that we should expect "years" of frustration following a coaching change. The key will be selecting (and paying) the right one.

Speaking as the holder of an advanced graduate degree from Vanderbilt (Doctorate of Jurisprudence,) that is complete nonsense. There are certainly outliers, but the numbers speak for themselves. Using law school as an example because it is the one I know(although I am sure the same holds true for other graduate degrees,) VLS graduates in private practice make a median salary of $115k/year. UT graduates in private practice have a median salary of $61,500/year.

Law School Rankings by Median Salary

EDIT: I didn't find the criteria for the ranking, but I am certain that represents beginning salaries for recent graduates entering the workforce.
