Let's see how well he fares against Saban. He feasted on the morons we have had at the helm over the past 12 years or so. He owned the WORST decade of Alabama football. I, as well as anyone whose family tree actually branches out, knows that it is not much to hang your hat on.

i sadly agree

Are you sure your tree "actually branches out?"

So, how'd Gene Stallings work out back in 1996 against CPF?

UT will upset someone (UGA, Bama, etc.) and they will give fulmer another raise and extension. They never learn.

If this statement was true do you think fulmer would be fired in midseason unless someone has been in contact with Lane Kiffin about coming in. Pete Carrol and Butch Davis would not leave there program in midseason.

Bingo. Not saying that it will happen in midseason though.

Hoss, unless Stephens turns out to be the second coming of Manning, UT will be lucky to end up with 6 wins, and that will hinge on the defense playing their butts off.

Then again...you could be right.

Personally, I hope you're wrong.

go vls. (no "o" in Knoxville these days)

I would love him to stick around, only because I am a "Bammer". If my blood resembled anything near orange, I would have been over him 6 years ago.

well if i was a "bammer", i would have wanted him gone years ago. i think fulmer should go as much as anyone on here, but he has owned bama since he has been head coach.

stallings wasn't that bad and he beat the hell out of him. don't get too cocky yet bammers, you still haven't won anything.

nobody's a fulmer fluffer. just trying to keep the facts straight.

Nothing against you, personally, but...

...after Bama smokes us, in Knoxville...none of us, including you, will have any trouble "getting the facts straight"...

...the fact being that it's way past time for a change.

go vls.

I'm still amazed at how quickly the Lane Kiffin bandwagon has formed.... hiring an unproven HC is not the answer for the future of Tennessee football. You guys throw around, Saban, Spurrier, and Carroll as proof that an inexperienced collegiate HC from the NFL can be the saving grace of a program. Aside from Carroll - Saban and Spurrier both had huge success at the college level prior to leaving to the NFL and then coming back. Look at Charlie Weis and ND... the hailed savior alongside touchdown Jesus. He's really brought that program back to national dominance hasn't he? Is Kiffin the right guy to compete in the toughest conference in college football? Think it's bad now... wait till we go through 5 years of rebuilding... and then have to hire a new coach bc of a dumb move now.

I was actually thinking the Bama game would be the deciding factor.
