I don't know if folks up in Tennessee have the pleasure of listening to the Max Howell show. His show was formally broadcasted from Destin, FL and has since moved to Jackson, MS. Unfortunately for me, we no longer receive it where I live but he was on a local sports show today and was asked about UT.

If you have listened to Max before, you know that he is as non-biased as they come. You will also know that he was an assistant at both Ole Miss and Florida State before going into radio. Max isn't one to ruffle feathers, nor is he very interested in breaking stories at the expense of his sources.

So take it for what its worth, but he said he has heard from 2 sources close to UT that Volnation will know the future of our coaches in two weeks. If things don't get better he said the firings may likely go all the way to the top (Fulmer, maybe Hamilton?). UGA could be the deciding factor, but the news should be here before BAMA rolls into town.

They will try to rally everyone around the UGA win and then act as if it is meaningless when Bama hangs half a hundred on them.

I live here in Destin and have met Max on several occasions. I know that he's very knowledgable about things going on around the sec and southern football in general. It wouldn't suprise me to the least if he is exactly right about this.

What would it matter if you guys won out, Fulmer still needs to go right???
Why? We could keep having this same gutwrenching debate for the next 10 years while the program falls all the way into the basement of the SEC and another generation of Vol fans are divided by the Fulmer feud.

I would love him to stick around, only because I am a "Bammer". If my blood resembled anything near orange, I would have been over him 6 years ago.

If this statement was true do you think fulmer would be fired in midseason unless someone has been in contact with Lane Kiffin about coming in. Pete Carrol and Butch Davis would not leave there program in midseason.

Unfortunately for Fulmer and co., Alabama took some of the quality away from a potential victory in Athens.

I think Fulmer's job is beyond saving. He's 1-3, and it'd take more than a miracle to get this team to Atlanta in December. A solid decade without a championship has to be the final straw for Fulmer.

I think, for starters, CPF will resign at the requesting of Hamilton...I don't see him getting fired. I think he loves the program too much. I also think he'll get to coach out the rest of the season...he's earned that much. I do hope it happens this year, though.

Shoulda beaten AU by 7-10...Uga is no better down 31-0 at the half to ANYBODY is the definition of a team with problems.....it would not surprise me at all to beat Uga with ANY QB production~~~

well what if we beat NIU and somehow shock the world and beat Georgia....3-3 record

Umm...we have to be able to have some type of production from the QB position or we will lose every game the rest of the season. Teams will load the box. If there isn't some type of production from the QB we will lose to Wyoming and NIU.

If we don't beat NIU by 2 scores, and lose to UGA, it wouldn't surprise me if Fulmer had a resignation letter formed up for him. They interim chavis for the rest of the season, or bring in Kiffin if he really is an option due to his current employment or lack their of.

However, I could also see UT going 8-4 losing to Bama, if we put Stephens in. Either way Fulmer is gone at the end of the year.

I thought the UT-UA winner has gone back and forth the last few years.

You cannot fire Fulmer in the middle of the season. Make the announcement, yes. Start the search, absolutely. Announce the new coach, probably should wait until the season ends.

I am as unhappy as the next person, but the man at least deserves to finish out the season.

Let's see how well he fares against Saban. He feasted on the morons we have had at the helm over the past 12 years or so. He owned the WORST decade of Alabama football. I, as well as anyone whose family tree actually branches out, knows that it is not much to hang your hat on.
