UT will be the most improved team in the SEC

I think it all comes down to the o-line. I really think the defense will be better and find some good answers in the front 7. I think the offense will be better just from the standpoint of having a better system and knowing what to do. The big question is just how will the o-line hold up physically. Can they move guys or will they keep getting run over? Just my thoughts.

I would be shocked if we win 9. Other than unbridled optimism, I see no evidence YET of being able to win that many games this year.

Water (tears) and electricity (unbridled and unjustified optimism) are a volatile combination, sir (or madam). Voltage and wattage tend to be not evident until the shocking experience. So, you're quite right in what you say.

WTF? Don't look at me that way. I just typed this stuff. Beyond that, it has nothing to do with me.

Nice post but my biggest reason for optimism is the schedule. I think it's the easiest out of conference schedule we have had since 2012 and we get Miss State, South Carolina and Vandy at home while Kentucky should be depleted. Miss State and Kentucky both lost a lot (check the draft). That leaves 8 very winnable games. I don't expect to win all of those but if we don't at least make it to 6-6 and a bowl game then something is wrong with this staff.
With the teams you mentioned, add in Mizzou and you have a recipe for 8 or 9 wins. All of them have lost just HUGE pieces of their teams (Lock, Hall and Beckner from Mizzou .. Snell, Johnson and Allen from UK .. Shurmer from Vandy .. Deebo from USuCk .. half a freaking team from Miss St) ... yes, UT has some questions to address on both LOSs but who in that list doesn't?

How many years in a row are we going to be expected to be the "most improved" team? If they can somehow manage to win 7 games that will be tremendous improvement considering how poor the line play has been, certainly 9 wins are possible but that would have to be considered a great year imho.
Don’t think 9 is possible with this roster.

Last time we won 9 games in regular season was 2007 and we played 14 games that year. I see more like a 5-7 or 6-6 with closer games than last year sans the six 25+ blowouts we had last year.

Bama writers saw him coordinate defenses that won national titles. Tennessee writers have only seen him go 5-7 with 6 blowout losses.
No doubt...they clearly don't realize the deep seeded hold BVS has on Volnation.

Went to Atlantis on spring break and casino had these odds to win championship. Doesn’t appear they are on same page as bama writers. FWIW, think UF and Miss St are way over valued.

7-5 would be about right, until TN starts to control the line on both sides of the ball at least 50% of the time, they will struggle to eek out 7 wins. I think next year we will see the jump to 9 wins.

I still think 8, I do think the play on the field will be better, and even better towards the end of the year.
I thought, actually probably just hoped, that as the season went along last year, under Pruitt’s leadership and influence, that we’d be much improved at the end of the season to the point where many would say that “nobody wants to play Tennessee right now”..........I was wrong, very wrong.
