Missouri

Big ten is a joke.

We blew the three big ten teams away in bowls, are undefeated against OSU, and curb stomped Michigan back last time we played.

Stick us in the big ten and we don’t win less than 9 games at ANY time during the past 20 years.
Lol! The Big 10 sucks, but we weren't winning 9 games in any conference the last couple seasons.

Mizzou seems to always field a hard nose football team and the Vols have not been able to match up with them.....let's hope Pruitt can change the Vols from being softies

They're such an anomaly to me. Their recruiting is $hit year in and year out (ranking wise), yet they seem to recruit JUST enough pieces that turn out to be huge contributors for them and they always ball out against us. On paper we should whip their ass on an annual basis the way we used to do KY and Vandy but damn if they're not a thorn in our side!

Missouri was coached by Gary Pinkel for 14 years. He's a good coach with a good coaching pedigree. Odom is a Mizzou allum who coached under Pinkel. He runs a very similar style of program. It's true that they do not recruit at an elite level, but they have the ability to develop players. They also are successful at recruiting guys that they can keep in the program and allow to develop. They play a lot of upperclassmen.

I hate Mizzou because I have had to hear about getting beaten by them for so long. But, they are a respectable, well-ran football program.

They are very ingenuous. Maybe a holdover from Pinkel. They have always done well with doing the small things like stunting and mixing up blitzes, running spread big 12 style offense (5 or 6 on the OL to run better, not 7 or 8 along the OL which hurts running success), faking handoffs on almost EVERY pass, etc. All those small things really add up to consistent, small advantages over a program like ours that is consistently not creative. We don't help ourselves playing 1970s ball.

They also seem to always have a disproportionate amount of under the radar players that really develop and the one or two high 4 star or 5 star players they get every year ALWAYS pan out. Very rarely it seems do their highly touted recruits end up being busts.

Saying Notre Dame doesn't have a great tradition is a joke. They for most of the nistory of the MNC, had more national championships than anyone. I think bammer finally caught them under saban, but being no. 2 in national championships is still better than UT. They also have a better win percentage and more victories. And their schedule might have some soft teams, but this season they play Georgia and Michigan in addition to SoCal, and you could throw in Stanford.

Last season they played Stanford when Stanford was ranked no. 7, Michigan, and FSU although FSU was down last year.

Two years ago they played Georgia and Miami when Miami was ranked no. 7 as well as SoCal.

Not that long ago they played OU in Norman and beat them.

So saying they play a soft schedule is BS.

Wow they played OU....and to think we played OU on top of bama, ga and fl.

And they actually played GA and oh man Miami in the same year. The same year we played ga, bama, fl again??

So you can name one actually hard game a year and then throw in Miami or something which is the equivalent of South Carolina lately and THIS is your hard season.

Come on.

It's not like we are losing only to Bama, GA, and FL every year. We have lost 5 of 7 to Vandy. Last year ND at least beat Vandy, whereas Vandy beat the brakes off of us. The year ND lost to GA by 1 point, we lost 41-0 to them. ND's SOS is the least of our worries at this point.

Didn't say their schedule was harder than ours the last several years. For many years in a row, we were top ten or top five in schedule difficulty. Just saying Notre Dame doesn't play a "soft" schedule compared to the national average. Per the NCAA, their schedule last year was 19th in the country (ours was 11th).

NCAA Statistics

It's clear to me that you just have a blind hatred of Notre Dame and so are twisting the facts to suit your bias.

And while having to play bammer, uga and Florida every single year is indeed tough (and additionally we often seemed to draw the second-toughest team from the West in a given year), the SEC East was down for a long time after Urban left Florida. There were several years we should have beaten Florida that for some reason we didn't. So while Florida, Uga and bammer is tough, some years it's easier than others.

They also never had to play a conference championship game for years like almost everyone else did.

The big ten didn’t have a conference champ gane for years either.

This isn’t blind hate it’s just facts that make their end record always different and less difficult.

19th most difficult in the country is not an easy schedule, and that's a solid fact.

But you ignore the facts you don't want to hear apparently.

The problem is, 17 year old recruits dont care about how good we were good 20+ years ago before they were born. They want to see more recent success.

Yep. It's a perpetual cycle. The elite recruits that Bama and Clemson get don't want to come here because they want to win right now but the only way we can win is to get elite recruits.
