Curious what the prevailing opinion is in Jalen Hurd. I'm cheering for him and don't really have any negative feelings toward him. Sure he didn't behave perfectly, but from what we now know about Butch, it's hard to fault him too much.

Wow!!! What a terrible take on his part. I could care less about The Big Orange Caravan or Orange Carpet Day. I’m like Al Davis I just wanna win baby win. I will admit I hated seeing the Smokey Gray uniforms going but the rest of the Butch “Filler” like garbage cans and a DJ good riddance.
Pruitt is about substance and not filler. I would rather have him spending that time reviewing players/recruits films than media engagements. By all accounts he is a tireless worker.
Between Barnes, Pruitt, and Vitello I feel better about the future of UT sports than I have in a long time. At least since the Dickey era.

For anyone lost, Calhoun wrote a hit piece on UT cancelling the big orange caravan. Called Phil and the coaches cowards and entitled.
Honestly came off as a scorned Warlick fan, mad he didn't get to stick it to the establishment for the 'unfair treatment of a legend'.

I agree, he wasn't right in what he did. But hard to hold a grudge against anyone for stuff they did under Butch.Regardless of what he thinks about his coach, he shouldn’t have quit on his teammates. I will never excuse that. He had 3 games left and literally quit on the field. I am happy to see it worked out for him, but it could have been handled much differently.
Headline idea. The media is just mad because those stops generate several articles per stop for them. Smokey doesn't give them that, although if they had half a brain they could turn Smokey's interactions with fans into articles as well but that would require some effort.
This. Maybe I missed part of the story, but has a legitimate reason for quitting on his team midgame ever surfaced? I don't blame him for quitting on Butch, but I do still question him quitting on his teammates.Regardless of what he thinks about his coach, he shouldn’t have quit on his teammates. Agree with all of this. Post of the day. Even if there's only been 17 posts today. My takes:
Bass is legit, and I totally understand taking a little bit of a break from VN, especially in the offseason.
Gucci is a part of the board. Sometimes a little much with the beer snobbery and "he gone", but we all are at times.
Even folks I've gotten into (sports and non-sports) arguments with, I tend to like and appreciate.
The Big Orange Caravan being canceled is a big fat raspberry. It's all fluff and there's nothing new. Our media has become pretty entitled due to Butch and his neverending quest for good press and relevance in the face of being nothing short of a disappointment.
I liked the (Nike) Smokey Grays, and there is room for both style and substance, but if I had to choose one, it's obviously substance all day.
I'm itching for a big time commitment and sure it's a little meh getting a diamond in the rough as opposed to the blue chipper, but this staff is one of the most legit in the country and I trust their evals. This is a pretty dead time of year and everyone is desperate for some big time news.
Charger, I'm sorry to hear all you're going through, and I appreciate you for the poster you are and wish nothing but the best for you.
Did I miss anything?
I'm not real sure it's not somewhat akin to having to monitor your blood sugar and take insulin as a person living with diabetes. I think when he comes off thinners there's a certain amount of time he has to be off the medication before his blood returns to it's I guess normal viscosity? Anyway, I'm figuring that is how we knew last year that he would be cleared for full contact on Aug 20th. Again, just speculating.
There is one other form of prevention he can use, compression stockings. Supposedly, compression stockings help to keep the blood flowing in his legs and inhibit the clot formations. I'm guessing he may now be sleeping in tights. I don't mean to make lite of a serious situation; I mean when he's sleeping is when he is least active for an extended period of time and that's where the risk of the clots forming is highest.
I think he's getting the best care and advice and if he does end up getting cleared to play again I'm okay with knowing that that clearance is conditional which I'm sure it will be. jmo.
Ditto all of thisMy takes:
