Vandy has had 3 draft picks. How many have we had?
We never should have beaten AU or KY. We overachieved to beat them. No doubt
Sorry, Vandy has been better than us the last two years. Hate it, but it’s a fact. The intern nuked the roster. You don’t lose by 30 on accident. We return more production this year and we will be better than them this year tho.Just because they have more drafted doesn’t tell the entire story. We return a lot of production. We had some talent that just wasn’t developed. If we overachieved with Auburn and UK, then I can’t ever say Vandy was better.
Oh my gosh....we're actually arguing about Vandy or us having more talent. NEVER thought I would see this.Just because they have more drafted doesn’t tell the entire story. Mason got the better of Pruitt
Lol at Pruitt not being able to out-scheme Mason. But I do think you’re right, as Fulmer said, we ran out of gas. There was a huge drop off in performance after that SC game. But there’s no doubt that we were the least talented team in the east. We didn’t have a single combine invite.I think our players were worn down and some of them quit. I recall Tuttle and A. Johnson saying as much in a postgame interview. It’s possible that Pruitt is a lousy head coach that can’t outscheme D. Mason, but I’m not willing to concede that in year 1 with the roster he inherited.

There's a cover of Hickory Wind on there by Gillian Welch that's a killer. My glass of scotch and I were cleaning up the kitchen late tonight and I thought I'd look for some music on my iPhone, something old I hadn't listened to in a long time. Landed on a tribute album from 20 years ago called Return of the Grievous Angel, 13 covers of Gram Parsons songs by a stellar lineup of artists. Just nicely topped off an already nice evening with the fam. Highly recommend.
Me too. Last year I was adamant that our roster was pretty good. Clearly I was wrong. We still had the worst OL in college football and a defense that, apart from the freshman corners and DT for 2 games, had no impact players.Agreed!
I recall thinking when Butch was fired that he had at least recruited well and left the roster in a good spot. I even recall arguing with a Florida fan that our job opening was better than theirs because we had a better roster. Little did I know the joke was on me! I tell you what, these last ten years have really grounded me. I want to get optimistic about 2019 and say we might surprise some folks but when the local media ends spring saying the OL needs help and the DL is a question mark, I’ve learned to take that as the gospel truth and revise my expectations downward!

I thought Cole Cubelic was crazy when he said ours was one of if not the worst roster he had seen in the SEC in a long, long time. But he was right. Hopefully Pruitt has these freshmen ready to play because we need them.
I think we can get to 8, but that’s only because other teams like Mizzou, Vandy, KY, and MSU are going backwardsAgreed! Bruce Feldman visited in Butch’s first spring in 2013 and said Tennessee had the worst power five roster he had ever seen. I never knew we’d be in pretty much the same spot 5 years later. Oh well. Gotta grind and get better. I’m reasonably confident we make a bowl game this fall but 6 or 7 wins is probably our ceiling.
I’m glad the UGA game is getting pushed back in 2020. We need to get more balance in our schedule. No way Dabo Swinney would have Clemson where they are if their first 6 or so games included Florida, Georgia and Alabama every year. That’s insanity.
