Focused on diversity, was at Nebraska, so not much to relate to sports side.
Held a position at Haslam College of Business and so on.

I think we just hired Beverly Davenport.

And UT is-- wait for it-- overpaying her. She'll be the highest-compensated chancellor in UT history. Throwing money at people has become our thing. Our colors should be orange and green.

In what way is that good? Even if one of the freshman or Tatum or whoever surpassed him, it’s safe to assume he would be a decent option for depth.

I don’t see how you can spin losing a full time starting OL as a positive. It may not wind up hurting really but i definitely don’t think it’s good.

If his attitude toward the OL coach is bad, his playing contribution may not outweigh the trouble he causes.

Davenport saved us from Schiano, stood up to the Haslams on that hire AND on the privatization plan.

She’s cool in my book.

All the better if they focus on academics. Leave Phil and Pruitt alone. They are doing great without any chancellor at all.

Better question...what's everyone's like top shows? You can do still on air and off air if ya want, idgaf. Looking for ideas for the long summer.

(no specific order)
The League
Parks & Recreation
The Office
Peaky Blinders
Frontier
Ballers
Justified
Game of Thrones

I don't have HBO so I don't get Game of Thrones but I can say Justified is great and Peaky Blinders. Hoping for another season of Peaky Blinders not sure if there is going to be one or not.

Justified and Peaky Blinders...man that's a very tough choice on which is "better"

Love them both, not sure I could pick to be honest. I'll say the thing that may drive people away from PB is that it's a time piece, so it's set in the early 1900s in England.

Why would that ear drive people away. I think that is what is so awesome about the show is the era its in. I love shows that are early set in early times.

I know someone who knew Davenport when she was at Purdue. I don't think she had any good recommendations from Purdue. I think the driving force with her hire was the problems we were having with Title IX.

Wasn't taking a shot at her, don't have a clue how much she had to do with what, other than standing up to the privatization plan, which I'm glad.
Everything else is out of my zone. On paper, it was a wash. She technically passed over Phil and hired Currie , which sparked everything afterward. ON PAPER.

Was it all Haslam and her the true eventual hero? Maybe/possibly/probably. But IDK because I'm a rarity - not an insider😅

But my comment was background and diversity. She may be the complete opposite of Bev on every sports decision. We may hate or love her. I prefer, as devo suggested, things keep going as is and her focus on building a better academic center.
Ol "second choice" Phil has been doing an outstanding job exactly as things are. I haven't been this happy with our direction in sooo long.
