2020 Presidential Race

Having a proto-fascist at the helm is generally not a good thing. And it has been shown hundreds of times that is what he is. Yes, the economy is doing great (weird how no one on here praises the massive economic growth when my other boy Barack was sitting in the Oval, but now it is all the rage while forgetting about the record setting deficits Trump is gifting all of us.) I'll just start with calling for violence against the press and anyone that disagrees with him. Sharp rise in white nationalism, hate crimes, should we leave that off? Not too mention having an absolute scumbag like Pence lurking around the WH. There are many, many reasons to be gloomy, to despair, and to lose hope. It is hard to keep up with honestly. Aside from the economy growing well (don't you give Obama any credit for that for the prior six years, don't do it), Trump has been an embarrassment.

Did you despair and lose hope when obama was telling the country law enforcement acted as fools? When police began being attacked due to his factually incorrect divisive spew? When you had people like pelosi saying we needed to pass bills to see whats in them or obama lying to the people saying "if you like your doctor, you can keep him" just to cram his garbage aca through? And as far as violence, havent we had certain dems telling people "to attack them in public" in reference to trump supporters? Does the violence against innocent people solely because of a red hat bother you?

Are you getting around to answering the question I asked ? It’s not like you to ramble on like this . You went into the weeds lol
Orange Man: bad
Anyone else, including that duck over there on the pond: good
I thought I kept my answer succinct and pertinent; guess I can ramble a bit concerning Lord Red Hat. Something I forgot to mention is the emboldened nature of some of the crazy alt-right types. Trump has definitely fed into their stupidity and insanity.

Good news is that craziness is a very small base. Far Left and Far Right are about the same amount of people. It's just that both of them are super loud.

Ok so like luther you haven’t lost anything since Trumps election . I’m guessing this is going to be the standard answers so I’ll ask again , where is the hopelessness, gloom and doom going to start ? I’m just not seeing it .

I tried to give you more than one like , it just won’t let me .

I don't want anyone that doesn't pay taxes to vote. Just like I don't want congressmen voting on their own pay packages. Same reason. And you want them (felons) voting because they are more than likely to vote Dim. And of course we all know that criminals won't illegally use a firearm in the commission of a crime... especially if they are convicted felons.

Generally those are both absolute conflicts of interest ... both non-taxpayers and congressmen voting to provide themselves more money and benefits. It's absurd to recognize and act to prevent conflicts of interest elsewhere and leave those (and some other) glaring examples untouched. At least apply income taxes to everybody so that those getting welfare of any kind can feel the pinch of having to pay for benefits. Nobody (not owning a company outright) should be able to set his/her income; let congress recommend pay raises and then allow the executive and judicial branches to work in concert to decide if, when, and how much. Personally, I think there should be some sort of citizens group overseeing congress, but then congress is supposedly a group made up of citizens to represent us, so ... And, damn, do something about congress and insider trading, and make it stick, and make it excruciating (like a lifetime in prison ... without voting rights).

He's not the one who can split the vote.

You just gave me an evil thought. Biden's slogan should be "Lift and separate". Anybody as old as I am may still remember who advertised with that one; of course, if you're as old as I am, you may not remember much anyway.

If the economy keeps chugging along it will be immensely harder for an opponent to unseat him in 2020 than it would have been to simply beat him in 2016. Trump isn't as unpopular as you think or keep hearing on MSM.
Dear lord, let's hope that he is.
I hate being in the Catch 22 with Trump and the economy, but if the only way Trump leaves is if the economy temporarily tanks, then I reluctantly have to hope for a downturn.

I'm not sure why you and Space gave me the screech treatment. I stated some issues I have with Trump and his supporters. I mean, I can go on with many, more. I'm sorry I didn't bend the knee to Lord Red Hat.

You are way, way more optimistic than I. Basically 35% of the country is unreachable. That was enough to elect him the first time around. It can be enough to elect him again.

Probably a bigger percentage of the country is unreachable. Both parties have their hardcore that aren't considering anybody else. If that's even 25% and 25%, it means candidates are wasting their time on at least half the country, and probably more like at least 60%. I can't see any major city going red or most flyover states outside urban areas going blue.

Meanwhile, the left props up terrorist organizations like antifa and ISIS.

Would you also prefer a natural disaster that he responds poorly too?
Would you also prefer he start another unnecessary war?
What about some terrorist attacks that he could have prevented?

I am just curious, how much pain you would prefer to see inflicted on the people of this country, rather then see Trump re-elected.

I have no doubt that you would accept and even cheer for the pain of millions as long as you got your way.

When Trump's policies don't affect you, you will see more of it. And it isn't just random people. Between dodging Pence and his theocratic tendencies, paired with an absolute fool, I will safely say Pence can go **** himself.

The only plausible answer remaining is one I desperately wished to avoid and would rather not share.

OK, just one question, chief. Why would you think the Russians would choose Trump to support over a far more liberal Clinton? You guys are so bent on "the Russians put Trump in the WH" that you can't even see from an ideological perspective it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Hardcore communists don't change their spots; they just bide their time.
