Looks like he will do what a defensive tackle for us should do. Get a push up the middle and make plays bounce outside.

This youngster has been and will remain my breakout pick for stardom as a Vol. I could be wrong, but he has special innate tools and from people with firsthand familiarity with him, a "wants to get better and high energy" work ethic. He is much more raw than was DBarnett but I believe he will surprise many people in the SEC who are our opponents on Saturdays.

I agree 100%! I have a great feeling that Mr. Simmons may be that future 1st rounder we haven't had in the middle for a LONG time. I remember another Pearl Cohn HS grad that was pretty much a BEAST too!! :)

I saw several of these young men on TV last season. UT could use several of them. Seem to remember no. 57 standing out. All these big guys seem to be playing at less than the aggressive level needed at the college level. Only "turn it on" when challenged by another big or for a key play. I personally think this lack of aggressiveness is not wanting to hurt the smaller player across from them.

It may just be my eyes, but he does not look 350lbs in this NFL Draft pic. He carries his weight well.
