Also don't see why he should get a waiver. How does a sick grandfather getting to see him play relate to "Documented mitigating circumstances that are outside the student-athlete’s control and directly impact the health, safety and well-being of the student-athlete". Same for Solomon. I don't really get why moving closer to home would get people waivers. Are they claiming home sickness and therefore a decrease in mental well-being? Not that Knoxville is meaningfully close to South Georgia anyway.

Martell should never have been given a waiver either though. He's just a bizzz.

The entire NCAA's argument for 1-year residency requirement is the decline in grades that has been documented when a student-athlete transfers. They should just give everyone with a x.xx GPA a waiver. Others must sit.

It’s what happens when you hire 3 crappy coaches in a row in Kiffin, Dooley, and intern jones. All three have had to try and rebuild the roster and then nuked the roster on their way out. If Pruitt is the guy will see a big jump this year and next year will be competing for the east. Just the way it is. Heck, on swains show they were saying we overachieved last year that the roster was a 3-9 roster

IIRC Year 2 or 3 is usually the break out year for the best coaches in the game. Not always but generally.

*If Pruitt is gonna get it done, yeah, it could take till 2021reach Bama level, or not . But there's a lot of teams and games between Vandy and Bama.

This season should be interesting though and next should even be fun. We've had enough to complain about, wait and see if we could even have a little fun this season, first.

We need to give him time. We had two completely boneheaded coaches before him who had no clue what they were doing and nuked the roster. Pruitt has assembled an elite staff. There is literally no argument with that. We know that he has an elite staff around him and we need to give him time. We can't expect to be bama or Clemson in year 4. Can we be AU tho? Can we get to the point where we expect 10 wins a year at least, 9 is the floor, and have a chance to win them all and go the National Championship? that's what I want to get to. If we get there then we can build and get higher. We need to get there first and give coach plenty of time.

I mean competing with Bama in our games. There probably won't be another Bama in our generation. Clemson isn't Bama. They wouldn't run through like they do in the ACC.
We could get to their level.

Agree with that. If we're not competitive with bama in 2020 then something is wrong or we have major injuries or something. We should be at least competitive.

True, but how many of them lost their ENTIRE starting defensive line going into year 2? It's such an abberration, I doubt many coaches have had to face this. That is why I'm expecting the big jump from year 2 to year 3.

Great coaches can scheme around most things, but if your DL is getting blown up, there's not much you can do. It affects the whole defense too much.

That's true. But I don't think its too much to ask for Pruitt to be able to win 8 this year. He lost his DL but there's talent there and we have the 2nd most returning production in the country. That's jmo
