To be fair, the stadium is only 4283....so even if packed for a weekend we're not even reaching 13k.

Lindsey Nelson Stadium - Facilities - University of Tennessee Athletics

Still less than 60% filled isn't very good :(

I think TN baseball missed the ship the last decade that could’ve been East Tennessee high school baseball. There are a ton of pros right now from this area and TN got very very few of them.

Hell even the director of ops for baseball now is from Knoxville, played at Memphis and led the nation in batting average one year.

East Tennessee baseball is really, really good. Talent, training, money. It's all here.
feels like baseball in general has gotten a lot better across the Southeast. i know here in Charlotte, there are more kids playing travel league, all start league baseball than i can shake a stick at....anybody i know that has a son is playing.

and back home where i grew up, the amount of resources, facilities and leagues to play in now, vs. when i was a kid....i can't even put a guage on it as to how much better it is now....

Just a reminder why some recruits choose the silent route and hold their public announcement until their school and community can share in the moment.

I love the older lady in white after the announcement. I need more folks like that in my life. Can't wait to visit our predominantly African American church friends this summer.

Really underrated band, great song too!
Yeah I really like a lot of their stuff. I always noticed that lots of their songs seemed to have hints (actually, sometimes much more than hints) of "religious" themes and it always intrigued me. So I was simultaneously shocked and not shocked when Ed K. left the band and started releasing Christian songs. Some of them are good, too, but I guess there's just something to be said for the whole (the group Live) being more than the sum of its parts...at least musically speaking.

Yeah, it’s been totally weird to see the lack of commitment to baseball over there. Hopefully that is changing.

i think it is...though, it's probably slower than those in the baseball program would like. the facility upgrades won't happen fast enough i'm sure. but the new field, getting Vitello....steps in the right direction...baby as they may be.

put it this way, it's not a "build it, and they will come" situation lol....probably more like "win, and they will come"....

My memory might not be accurate, but I seem to recall discussion about giving softball the current baseball facility and building a new baseball stadium. Just rumors?

The bungling ineptitude of the UT administration had made UT athletics the laughingstock of college sports. Nothing about this surprises me...it does sadden me though.
i think that ineptitude is being addressed. it's not the same vibe over there that's been there for the past decade. no way we do what we've done for the football staff, bball staff, and how we handled the lady vols w/out a change in direction administratively.

and siap, but baseball is taking steps in the right direction too.

and the results are starting to go the right way too...across the board.

jmo, but i think for the first time in a long time, the whole athletic department is at least pointed in the right direction, and committed to winning at a high level....you still have to prioritize....but honestly, baseball would be at least 4th on that list anyway....

I agree..it is getting better, I was referring to the reason it is this way.

And I understand prioritizing, but not just letting things rot. Sure baseball is down the list, doesn't mean it can't be done first class, and professionally...maximising the resources.

ok, then we can probably agree that, that it's not done yet, doesn't mean it's not going to get done........

Honestly...when/if the Smokies come back to Knoxville that'll be when you really see the growth in baseball attendance I think.

Might even be able to workout some sort of double-header type deals as well. I'm not sure what all the NCAA rules are like on that sort of thing, can a team play at a professional stadium for home games?

Pitt plays at Heinz Field, Miami plays at whatever they call that thing the Dolphins play in.....don't know why the rule would be different for baseball?

but i do think there is plans to either build a new baseball park, or really rennovate LN.....not sure exactly which....

Who dis?

Generally, I connect much more with "secular" musicians that battle with dark themes entertwined with hope more than Christian artists where 90% of the songs is about how great everything is. That just ain't my life. Artists such as "Discrepencies, All Good Things, Add1ction" strike a chord with me. Discrepencies is parental advisory, so if you don't go there, that's my disclaimer. The other two artists are clean/very near clean lyrics

Really good article and extremely candid responses from kongbo that highlight how much better the program is under Pruitt and fulmer. And just how bad butch and the ad were. Worth reading. Also someone put some of the quotes in a post in the ff.
i saw that. even though a lot of that was things we "knew"...it's still kinda sobering to read it like that.....

Ubben is a treasure for The Athletic and us as Vol fans. His analysis of players, coaches, plays and schemes are fantastic. He doesn't pull many punches - really direct in his comments.

Live

The lyric I quoted earlier is from their song "Heaven". Another one to check out is their song "Run to the Water"...one of my favorite lines in the song is "...a million mile fall from grace, thank God we missed the ground." They have tons of good songs.
