Pruitt SEC Coach of the Year

"Dont you know WV is small and we will run all over their puny b12 trash defense? We are SEC..."

had to SMH so many times last fall
I remember folks preemptively worrying about "rat poison" for when we were 4-0 after the UF game.

Can’t take anything he says seriously. It’d be one thing if he were remotely reasonable so you could just label him an optimistic fan. But he’s so over the top, so hyperbolic that’s he’s just ridiculous and not to be taken seriously.

I know I’m negative, the last decade has jaded me, I’m just gonna skew negative until the program turns and, imo, gives me a reason to start believing again and give them the benefit of the doubt.

But this guy....good Lord. I just can’t believe any adult who has been watching and keeping up with the program any reasonable amount of time could possibly bring the hot takes he does.
Lol, and it makes ZERO difference in anything, except it tightens some sphincters around here.

who is going to beat Tennessee besides the big three(and all games will be close)? BYU? Missouri? No chance. We will not lose again to Vandy, Mizzou, USC, for a long time. BYU has no shot at Neyland, No shot. No shot. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some players on that team and even coaches who are actually afraid to play at Neyland.

God, I thought you were gone. Must’ve escaped the nut house.

Brad Crawford just said on Finebaum he believes the SEC COY will be Pruitt. He said he believes UT will be 8-4 this year (same as my prediction).

Would 8-4 net Pruitt the Coach of the Year Award iyo?
Still not sold on him so I am going to take a wait and see approach.

If Texas A&M goes 10-2 then Jimbo Fisher wins SEC COY and if Texas A&M and Tennessee both go 9-3 then Jeremy Pruitt will be SEC COY.
If Alabama goes 12-0 then Saban wins.

If Alabama goes 11-1 and their loss is to an out of league school or mid-level or lower SEC school with less than nine wins Saban wins the award.

Alabama will be 12-0 in 2019 their out of conference schedule is

Duke @Mercedes Benz Stadium
New Mexico State
Southern Miss
Western Carolina

I can't see Alabama losing in the SEC either.

Key word here in bold. Remember when Dormady went 10 for 10 or Preston Williams caught a 50 yard bomb as a freshman in spring games?

Coaching killed both of those players careers at Tennessee. Atleast Preston got out early and made something of himself. Dormady stayed too long.

depends on who is in the 8 and who is in the 4.

i don't think you can give COY w/out a win over UGA, Bama or UF. 8-4 in and of itself, kinda implies you lose those 3 games + 1 that most of us would think is at worst a toss up game...MSU/USCe/UK/BYU/MO....

i'd be hard pressed to be upset about 8-4 mind you. but i dunno about COY stuff. i'd be thrilled personally.
Rational thoughts, wow, what a concept!

Good post Jake

Maybe we should you know, wait till the season actually starts before we start crowning Pruitt COY; just maybe.

Who crowned him? I saw people using if/then logic, which equates to reviewing results after the end of year before crowing.

Why does everyone on VN insist on being snarky and argumentative? Does everyone think it makes them look smart instead of just sad, miserable and suffering from low self-esteem esteem?

JG is the third best QB in the SEC and we’ve got good talent behind him. O-line will be solid and Dline will be top 5 in conference
Sooo, I am not sure who you are putting him above but he isn't better than Tua, Fromm, Burrow, Mond and maybe not even Matt Corral at Ole Sissy. After that group, I would Guarantano is there .. he has tools to excel

JG has been crippled by several factors . Hopefully Chaney can do for him what he did for Tyler Bray , but we may never see what he really could have been . Coming in , his potential was legit. "water is wet" yeh yeh

The kid has a level of arm talent but just misses on too many throws. I love his grit and hell, there may not be a tougher QB in CFB right now outside of D'andre Francois

You might want to slow your roll until you see what the O Line looks like on the field in a real game.

Every time I start getting overly optimistic, that is what brings me back to Earth. It is the greatest unknown.

Yeah when he gets going strongly at Tennessee he will become a possible successor to Nick Satan at Alabama. Jeremy Pruitt in that case would make sense for Alabama because i don't think Dabo Swinney will be leaving Clemson.

This is great comedy.

I'm sure Phil would make a go of it. In any case, I am guessing Jeremy is in a good position to get a pay raise one way or another. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

After one underperforming year some are not only talking about raises already, they are talking about replacing Saban at Bama......wow.

8-4 as long as none of those losses come from UK or Vandy and one of the wins comes from one of our big rivals (UF,UGA or Bama) thats coach of the year material. I'd take a 6-6 record as long as all the wins are against those 5 teams plus Missou or USCe. <<--Joke

total honestly depending on the development of the O-line this is a team that can be anywhere between 7-10 wins. Less than 7 wins means the oline completely mailed it in and/or JG lost his starting job. Flat out over the past 6-8 years two things have affected our record more than anything else including coaching. Injuries and the O-line. I can honestly say if our online was better by any measure and we had a normal amount of injuries the past decade we'd have won 2-3 more games yearly. We have really had a freakish amount of injuries the past 8 or so years and its mostly hit the Lines. Remember the Sullins brothers starting? Remember Jacob Gilliam starting with no freaking ACL. We spent a period of like 4-5 years when we were starting guards at tackle because we didn't have any healthy tackles ever.
