That roster without Bone and Williams ain’t 💩 but it ain’t ambrosia either.

You have to wonder if that went into his original decision. Without those 2, this looks like a 2-3 year rebuild. Next year we'd be lucky to make the NIT. Maybe ncaa the next year. Basically starting over. The big difference this time, though, is the potential of next year's recruiting cycle.

And they stay away in droves because of rumors Saban may go to the NFL...or Texas? Learn something new. If you have a coach someone wants you have a coach who will sign recruits.

Hope so. Spun well enough, who knows? Assuming 17 YOs know wtf a Wooden is.

I remember all those times Saban said, “heck, If Texas would’ve paid my buyout I’d be gone” too.

I went and watched the video and let me tell you, boy did I learn something! Oh wait, no I didn’t. Why? Because I already knew what he said. Him saying it in a grandpa voice doesn’t change anything.

At the end of the day, he said that if they would’ve paid his buyout he’d be at UCLA. That is an incredibly dumb thing to say and it’s a bad look for him and our school. It will be and probably already is being used against him in recruiting.

This is not some outrageous take so I don’t understand why so many people feel the need to protect Barnes in here today. He should have handled this much better. Was not smart on his behalf.
I can give 4.7 million reasons why this whole situation was smart on Coach Barnes' part.

You weren’t going to be dissuaded from your angry fan stock response. It’s who you are...no hate. Barnes doesn’t need protection...he’s pretty set for the rest of his career. And other posters don’t have to “feel a need” to respond to your OPINION to do so. You always made a point to criticize his recruiting so it can only get better and better.

To play devils advocate you usually defend most of what Tennessee does (obviously no hate toward you either). The consensus from non Tennessee fans are not favorable towards Barnes.

What was UCLA's final offer?

Fwiw, for you all that don't read "power speak", god = money when coaches give pressers. That should make his words less confusing to anyone taking them literally.

Barnes is who we have
I’ll support him but he better not lose

One problem with Tennessee is we have been cheap with coaches, we seem to be coming out of that now..... I only hope that if bama comes after Pruitt ole Phil will line up the brinks trucks to keep him.

Because Alabama paid more. And no one cared. Say what you want about Bama fans, they give a shizz about what their coaches say...as long as they’re in Tuscaloosa. Our fanbase is fragile...or a vocal portion.

If Bama comes after Pruitt then he 100% would deserve huge money from us. Because in order for that to happen he would have to have won big here. Their 1-5 calls will be Dabo.

And no better representative of the devil ever there was. If there’s urine to sprayed on our program you’re first in line. I give a shizz about NON-TENNESSEE fans...no hate towards you.

If I had posed the following question to this board yesterday in the abstract:

"Should coaches publicly admit they would have left their current school for a previous suitor, had said suitor offered adequate compensation?"

I don't think "no" would have been a controversial answer. In fact, I think it would have been the preferred answer by most.
