Why do I have to watch the video? I read his comments verbatim, in context. What difference does it make? He said what he said

there's a big difference in reading it (especially when you already have your mind made up about what you think about it) vs. seeing and hearing what he says, how he says it, the body language, the tone of the questions etc...

the 247 is a recap, but you don't get any of that. you're allowed as the reader to to put your own spin on how what you're reading sounds/looks...no different than reading posts in here.....a lot of these posts would sound a lot different in person, than they do when you're reading.

but you know that....this isn't your first day.

you should watch it.

He said what he said. Imo, the only reason anyone in here has a different viewpoint is because we’re vol fans and we have strong loyalty to coaches. Just a fact. That’s why I pointed out what the KY fans were saying. They aren’t mocking us, they’re saying the truth that Barnes was incredibly dumb in what he said today.

I don't disagree that the comment was ill advised, but you are simply offended. You are using those comments to justify your bias.

you're allowing yourself to be influenced by KY fans' message, but won't watch the video because it might change how you percieve what you've read?

bass, you've just made up your mind you're going to feel about it, and they only thing you're going to allow yourself to be influenced by is anything that is like minded.

you're not truth seeking. you're narrative pushing.

It’s literally what you’re saying over and over again. Here’s a thought... maybe I can’t watch the video right now? But regardless, I read his comments in full. Who cares how he said it. Literally everyone who has seen them is saying the same thing I am except a select few TN fans on this board. Take the glasses off

Let's parse this Barnes scenario out:

There were 2 scenarios at play in fans' heads, either 1) he was truly wanting to coach at a historic program in a shiz conference OR 2) he was angling the whole deal to play us for more money.

Everyone here seemed to understand (1), but was upset by the thought of (2).

Now he comes out and says it was (1).

And we are mad anyway?

Actually I’m fine with 2. It’s the statement that he would be at UCLA but darn it, they just wouldn’t pay his buyout.
