don't think his loss is all that great. For pete sakes there are linemen who run alot faster than 4.85 in the 40. Nunes would have been basically a sitting duck in the SEC. So he's going to Standford well I wish the young man luck because playing against USC/UCLA/Cal/Oregon/Oregon St he is going to need it.

Peyton Manning was probably in that neighborhood. If a QB can read a defense and get the ball out on time to the right receiver, 40 times don't matter.

Please stop sweetening up our sour grapes.

When Simms pulled this act 10 years ago I wished a pox upon him. I will now try to act more mature about the situation and wish Nunes well...though I hope to see the day when he regrets his decision.

Oh my god, a 4.85? Jesus, I hope that west coast hippie has fun at Stanford, and god forbid somebody try to steal his collection of Madonna albums, because god knows he won't outrun them. I would hate to see him cry his snailish eyes out.

he's a qb. his job is to throw the ball, not outrun everyone on the field. peyton manning was anything but mobile and is probably the best qb to ever come through knoxville.

You are welcome.

(Since you blamed booing fans for running him off, I guess you will thank them now, right?)

A 4.85!?!?! Was he crawling?!?

With Crompton, Stephens, and Coleman zipping up and down the field like cheetahs, Nunes would have never played a down at UT.

whatever his reason for staying in CA we shouldn't be so fast to rip on him. We dont want to be bunch of haters.

a 4.85???????????? WHAT THE HECK!!! Seriously, that's REALLY REALLY bad. Say what you want about it doesn't take much to drop back 5 and throw, but when most of the line leaves this year, we're going to need a little mobility at the QB position.

Yeah, that 4.8 that Flynn runs really hurt LSU last year.

Actually I will relent, it is a good thing that we ran Nunes off. What with his inability to win gold in the 100m and the fans booing, this program would be mediocre at best.

The fans that try to justify loosing a top recruit crack me up.
Just like UK saying they didnt want Hopson and Memphis saying they didnt want Negudu.
I wish we landed Nunes.

Huge difference there. Simms is on ESPN wearing a Tennessee hat one night and then less than 12 hours later he announces that he is signing with Texas. Not even close to the same situation.

Considering he couldn't pass Major Applewhite on the depth chart, I actually am very grateful to Chris Simms.
