To be fair we only gave quality minutes to 2 "bigs" in Kyle/Grant. both of which were 1 & 2 in rebounding despite Kyle's inconsistency on the boards.

Bone & Turner's rebounding numbers were a reflection of minutes more than anything though both getting over 30 a game.
gotcha, and like i said, that makes sense, being a function of playing time.....thanks.

definitely would like to see the 4 and 5 be closer to the top of that list....especially on the offensive boards.

If he can quit getting caught with weed, I'd love to have VaTech's Chris Clarke. Some of you may remember he almost committed here under Tyndall until rumors started about NCAA violations. Dude is a really good player; he just can't put the pipe down.

Not a grad transfer but I would like Tennessee to try and get UT Chattanooga freshman forward Kevin Easley. He averaged 14.2 ppg and 6.7 rpg this past season. He was a 4 star recruit coming out of high school in Indiana that originally committed to Will Wade at LSU.

He didn’t “almost” commit...did the real thing. USM stuff came out next day.

but are there any true 5's in the portal?

Short answer...yes, quite a few true 5s in the portal. I had posted some of the guys I found most intriguing a few days back.

2019 Basketball Transfer Portal

Not sure it's EVERY name in the Portal, and I don't know how accurate the eligibility part is...but you can filter by position. Plenty of great size in the PF/C positions in the portal.

From a size/production stand point here's the best bigs in the portal I think

Joey Brunk - 6'11" played in 33 games with 13 starts 18.6 mpg, 7.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1 apg
Barret Benson - 6'10" played in 32 games with 5 starts 9.4 mpg, 2.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg
Miles Brookins - 6'10" played in 28 games with 15 starts 17.3 mpg, 5.0 ppg, 2.6 rpg
Dominik Olejniczak - 7'0" played in 33 games with 22 starts 18.3 mpg, 5.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1 bpg
Javan White - 6'10" played in 33 games with 2 starts 8.4 mpg, 2.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg (his previous year at Oral Roberts though 27.5 mpg, 10.2 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 1.3 apg) didn't seem to get much court time with Clemson
Jordan Brown - 6'11" played in 33 games with 1 start 10.1 mpg, 3.0 ppg, 2.1 rpg (was a 5 star HS prospect would have 3 years eligibility left)
Cameron Lard - 6'9" played in 24 games no starts 12.5 mpg, 5.6 ppg, 2.8 rpg his previous season 26.4 mpg, 12.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg

Am I the only one who doesn't want @Catbone to change? He irritates me from time to time but he is part of the fabric of this board that entertains me. Lots of unique personalities in the RF.

I like Cat. He's a cool cat iyam. Then again I don't take his negaments seriously either. Just very BVS. He's younger, it's all he knows. Nurture (or the opposite) has conquered the natural vol nature in him. He'll come around once he sees the greatness many of us have.

Braves just locked up Ozzie Albies on a 7 year contract worth $35 million. Will keep through 2025 with club options for '26 and '27.

I like it.
That John Hart method...circa 1993. Identify and take care of them early. If they get to arbitration, negative feelings get generated.

Seriously thinking of loading up my three kids and driving four hours just to go to the O&W game this weekend.

100% do it, you can catch the Lady Vols softball game at 1pm, Baseball at 3pm, and then come over about 4:30 for the village meet & greet stuff...Ron Slay and other former VFLs will be present then see some football!
