2020 Presidential Race

The left want a living wage flipping ****ing hamburgers..😂

Great way to get Machines into McDonalds. We are seeing the benefit of a depleted labor market now. Target just raised it's entry level wage to 13.00, and BOA is going to 20.00. Why mess up something decent?

Exactly, the free market will determine wages, not a bunch of out of touch bureaucrats pandering to their base.

Besides some sort of mental issue I don’t see how anyone makes minimum wage. In my restaurants I have about 8-10 folks with Down syndrome I pay $10 an hour.

Raising the minimum wage too high will screw us all. I can agree with a good chunk of that. How do we equal the pay gap?
I know people don't like regulation, but it will require some type of new law that guarantees equal pay for equal work. Or amend the existing equal pay act because companies are still getting around it.

Even Mexico has a national voter ID, are you saying they’re more enlightened than we are? Fraud exists and this is a sure fire way to nip that shlt in the bud, and please spare me the argument of how it would disenfranchise minority voters, that’s a crock of ****
Mexico is racist for requiring Mexicans to have voter ID.

There is no such thing as a wage gap, it’s a myth. The reality is there is a work gap. Women take more time off work, work less hours and have gaps in seniority.

Liberals are sympathetic to LGBTQ civil rights issues. It is a more important issue amongst the left than you realize. No way a liberal candidate bashes somebody over their sexuality. It is an immediate nonstarter for many liberals.

Which isn't taking into account the staffing of said candidate discretely releasing info about their opponents and then attributing it to radical right groups.

There is a difference between Wages vs. Earnings.

I don’t think there’s any way to guarantee pay equality without government overstepping their bounds. I’m not opposed to companies being forced to disclose various pay statistics to highlight any discrepancies, though.

You forgot to say "fake news" first.
yup. snopes saying it wasn't Hilary is fake news. even reading their own stuff points it out.

FACT CHECK: Did Clinton Supporters Start the 'Birther' Movement?

In March 2007, Clinton campaign strategist Mark Penn proposed attacking Obama on the basis of his “lack of American roots.” And, in December 2007, a Clinton volunteer county coordinator in Iowa was fired for forwarding an e-mail making the by-then familiar claim that Obama is a Muslim.

....

That Hillary Clinton supporters circulated such an e-mail isn’t in question, but the claim that that’s the moment the birther theory “first emerged” simply isn’t true. The likeliest point of origin we’ve been able to find was a post on conservative message board FreeRepublic.com dated 1 March 2008

They pushed it.

You are against the government overstepping their bounds yet not opposed to the government overstepping their bounds?

I’m opposed to the government legislating to try and force equal pay. I’m not opposed to them making companies release statistics concerning pay inequity.

Both are examples of government overstepping it's bounds.

Tulsi Gabbard is the Ron Paul of the DNC right now. If the Dems really want to beat Trump and move the country in a different direction, she would be their best shot... just like Paul would have been the GOP's best hope to beat Obama in 2008 & 2012. Unfortunately, the DNC machine and the media are going out of their way to marginalize her.

Do you think companies should be able to operate in secrecy and hide any sort of bad behavior from the public?

Yes, all the way up to the point of illegality/endangering the public.

Employees talk regardless of company policy so Jane knows what Joe makes (or damn close).

So you’re in favor of regulations on businesses for the benefit of the people? What are you, a communist?

I suppose that I did. My bad.
Back the original discussion, I really don’t feel like requiring businesses to disclose pay stats is infringing on their rights or would hinder their ability to operate. They would have every opportunity to justify any gaps as well.
