They are very specific about who they recruit. I read today they have only offered 6 kids for 2021. They probably have someone they know they are getting at that position that they think fits better for them.

Their class is going to be ridiculous this year.

What really got me is they have “zero” 5 * talent committed as of now and they turned him away.i think they are referring to their current roster being full instead of being in on better talent.this move is the most unusual I’ve ever seen in recruiting Alabama doesn’t even turn away 5* recruits.

I liked Kellie when she played here and my two girls did a camp with her years ago but not really excited about this hire. Seems to me we just went from sup-par coach to par coach. Not a home run hire at all. And yes I will throw out there the my cover in case she does really well, "but I hope she proves me wrong." Now I feel better. Have covered both ends. lol

The thing is, the top coaches have built, or are building, legacy programs elsewhere. Convincing them to come to UT and walk past a towering statue of a legend and play on a floor with her name on it is a tough task. The superstar coaches want that for themselves where they already are.

Fulmer was going to have to hire a rising star. Kellie has experience, is invested in bringing the program back and is willing to stand in someone else's shadow. But yeah, it's a risk and not the splashy hire fans wanted.

OT:

A truly undervalued rapper from (namely) the 90s - Mos Def. Now revisiting "Black on Both Sides" and it is timeless. Speaking on the same issues still relevant 20 years later. Love that time period of him, talib, common bringing social consciousness back to hip hop after "gangster rap" had flooded the markets with trash concepts and materialism.

I agree and understand but sure thought there would be some up and comers that would jump at the chance. I really do hope Kellie does well just not impressed with her coaching career up til now. Maybe UT gives her the chance to take that step to be more successful here I do hope so. And let me say this, I will like I do any coach that comes here, support and pray that their very successful until they show like Holly did they just don't have it.

See what happens when you win a couple of championships👀 Dabo has lost his mind.😂😂😂 saban doesn’t even do this.

I think there's a lot of people who thinks Grimes is a good athlete but he camped at Clemson last summer and that raises the eyebrows. While he is a 247 composite 5-star right now, 247 itself has him rated quite a bit lower at 94. Alabama loaded up at the position in both '18 and '19 so I'm not sure what his real options are. Of course one of the DEs Bama had in their '18 class, Jordan Davis , is now committed to us out of JUCO. ESPN has Grimes as the 16th best player in the country; Rivals has him as the 20th best. The composite has him at #28 because 247 has him down at #86. While 247 says he can deliver "jarring' hits they also point out that he doesn't see out contact. More of a finesse player, they say.

Long, high cut athlete with enormous physical upside. One of the best athletes in the country from a combine perspective. Excels in track as well. Naturally strong and can deliver jarring hits. Good as a pursuit defender and easily runs down action away. Has positional versatility. Athleticism and frame combo points towards edge pass rusher but he could be effective at linebacker or on offense at tight end long term. Plays too high and is not refined. Doesn’t seek contact out. More of a finesse athlete currently. Likely an impact power five player and a mid to early round NFL Draft pick with upside as high as the first round.

That’s really good info.thank you.

After Jahmir Johnson got the bulk of work at left tackle with the 1s in the second scrimmage of the spring Saturday, the former JUCO product was back at his main position in 2018 today, working exclusively at left guard in both individual and combo drills. The first-team OL had freshman Wanya Morris at left tackle, Johnson at left guard, Ryan Johnson at center, Riley Locklear at right guard and Marcus Tatum at right tackle. Jerome Carvin was working with the 2s at center. K’Rojhn Calbert, who’s been a regular with the 1s at right guard, wasn’t out for much of practice while the media was present.

The o-line did multiple drills focusing on leverage. Freshman Chris Akporoghene oozes potential but his rawness definitely shows up in those settings.

As has been the case for the last two weeks, Trey Smith and Brandon Kennedy continue to do light work on the side of the main group. Interestingly, Kennedy also went and worked on his snaps with the quarterbacks during routes on air.

Like the o-line, the tight ends spent two periods working on run-blocking leverage. Brian Niedermeyer emphatically clapped his hands in praise after Dominick Wood-Anderson had astrong rep following some tough coaching.

Head coach Jeremy Pruitt led a “chop and run” pass rush drill with both LBs and DBs today, as the two groups spent time working on blitzing off the edge and trying to force a sack-fumble. Newcomer Deangelo Gibbs looked the most natural during the drill among the DBs. Daniel Bituli held the same role with the LBs, showcasing tight fundamentals and explosiveness off the edge. Shanon Reid and Will Ignont also had solid reps. Conversely, Solon Page was chewed out for jumping offsides during his rep and Pruitt also got onto freshman Quavaris Crouch for a lazy rep, where he too jumped offsides.

The routes on air period still had too many balls hit the ground, but most of the drops were from walk-ons. Jauan Jennings and Jordan Murphy, both working in the slot today, did have a poor drop each. Jarrett Guarantano might’ve thrown just 1-2 bad balls the whole drill, firing several pretty passes, especially on a few designed tight throws up the seam. Similarly, JT Shrout was sharp today. He airmailed one right over the middle, but he mostly was clean with his accuracy and touch. Freshman Brian Maurer took a lot of reps, but the early enrollee continues to struggle with consistency. Among the receivers, Marquez Callaway was very smooth today but I thought Jacquez Jones might’ve had the best overall performance. He plucked two high, tough throws from Maurer over the middle and also caught a ball a bit behind him from Guarantano.

Greenback (Tenn.) defensive end Derrell Bailey visited today. The long in-state lineman (6-5, 225) was good at the Charlotte Rivals 3Stripe Camp, earning offers from Colorado and Georgia Tech. Bailey is Mack Wilson’s half-brother

There aren't nearly as many slamdunk WBB coaches as people think. Walz is about the only one willing to move for $$$. When even Matthew Mitchell politely declines to interview, you know it's not going to be a long list.

And thats another thing LA, my knowledge of WBB Coaches is very limited but is still way above Invol's knowledge. HAHA!

Just found out my dog has a partially torn CCL (ACL) has anyone ever had this happen to their dog?

Had a boxer that blew out the ACL on each hind leg. The first one, we dropped 3 grand on surgery and rehab, which included putting him on an underwater treadmill. When the second one blew, he was older and we felt like the surgery and rehab would be harder on him than letting him deal. He didn't have any trouble with normal walking around, he just couldn't go crazy like the old days. He was fine for a few more years till we lost him to cancer. Still miss that ol' boy.

Foxhound mix 58lbs. Semi active. Has a yard and goes on walks daily.

your vet's reco is smart and pragmatic. if the mobility isn't adversely affected stick with a restrained schedule for a while. otherwise you have a financial/emotional decision to make. best of luck!

My lab had a very slight tear in his ACL and we didn’t do surgery. Vet recommended rest and rehab since it was only partial. That was 3 years ago and has had no problems after he was recovered, just hasn’t really ran full speed at the dog park since.

Unfortunately, he now has liver failure and he’s only 8. He’s having a minor surgery tomorrow to drain some fluid in his abdomen. Vet said it will keep him comfortable for now but we will have to make a hard choice in the next couple months or less. Going to be very tough. Not looking forward to that day at all.
