I feel like I am in the minority, but not at any moment throughout the rumors did I begin to think less of Barnes.

Some are acting like Barnes was controlling the rumors when it could've very well been UCLA trying to pressure UT. Kind of like how many of us began to question Fulmer/Pruitt/UT during all those Freeze rumors.

I'm with you. This happens so much that I don't understand how people can't see it. The rumors are driven by the media and fans. Barnes just wanted more money for his assistants and confirmation that Fulmer is serious about hoops. After where he has taken the program so far, that is completely reasonable for him to want that confirmation. 95% of the anger by fans who "view Barnes differently now" is misplaced because it was the fans and the media who sensationalized the whole situation in the first place.

If I still lived in Knoxville I would be there 100%. Pruitt has my support and he needs it from the fans. Huge recruiting weekend. If you can, please go and enjoy yourself while also showing recruits not just for football but for other sports how awesome UT is.

jmo but secn coverage has changed things. Nothing like the Majors years when it was the only way to see it. Same goes for all the scrub games that used to be radio only.

Foundation, to me, says Cooper, Baron, and maybe Tate Ratledge. Random commits aren’t the foundation, at least as I see it. Those two in state guys tho would be. Ratledge too since he’s a big time piece to this class

Those three dominos may not fall till summer. They want to take visits and decide before their SR season. Can probably toss Lawrence in there, too. The four of them are tight... but it would be surprising to see them commit this weekend. Would be great to be surprised, though.

If that’s the “only” reason he stayed, then I feel the same as I did yesterday. Bring back bruce

Here we go with the assumptions. We have no idea what happen. If a business offered me higher pay and benefits I would look at it very seriously. It the business thinks I am worth offering to match to keep me I would take the raise and stay put also. I don't quite see why all hurt cause he entertained offer of 5 mil. And I wouldn't pay part of the buy out either that would have been a deal breaker for me also. As always we in VN are left to the rumors of sport writers trying to get a story. I think we are reading way to much in this. He got a offer from a big time school and we matched it and he stayed. I for one am glad.

agreed. but i'll admit, if wasn't going to be out of town this weekend, i'd be in Knoxville.

we went last year and had a great time. it's an easy drive over the mountain, and a great easy way to get young kids to enjoy the fesitivities of UT football game day w/out the debauchery. not that there's anything wrong with that...lol.

i just hope i can sit down and watch it saturday night.

Nothing beats a nice spring/fall day at Neyland Stadium watching my favorite team play some ball. Especially when it is free admission. Great time with kids, family, friends, etc. Besides, ESPN hates us so screw them.

Now, when the tickets are $100+...then my couch seems more reasonable haha

Again, it's all about the perception. Do you think this hurts or helps recruiting? If I'm an opposing coach, I'm saying "Barnes is there until the next big offer comes." You can argue all you want and defend coach Barnes and what happened yesterday as normal business but it is simply not. Distrust abounds. As LA said yesterday, coach Fulmer will remember this. This was not the way to handle it if you 100% invested in a program.

Nope. These sort of negotiations happen all the time in this business and business in general. It's about as normal as it gets.

Kept making plans "just in case", so wanted to go this year.

Just found out my dog has a partially torn CCL (ACL) has anyone ever had this happen to their dog?

Wow. These are tough situations. So yes we’ve been there with our German Shepherd 6 years ago. She had surgery and got through all the follow up quite well. The hardest thing to deal with for her was that darn cone of shame that keeps pups from licking and infecting open wounds.

Wish you luck. It’s expensive and you’ll need lots of patience. But our pets are part of our family and we give them all the love we can.

About 5. Rescue dog. Had her for 3 1/2 years. Medium size 60 lbs which is apparently prime for these tears

Ah ok, that sucks man. Mine was 10 or 11 when he tore his. He definitely lost a step and had trouble jumping on the couch and stuff. Didn't really seem like he was in pain though

My black lab mix completely tore right one in 2004 and left one in 2008. Had the TPLO surgery on the right one and did fantastic. Had the older surgery with the fishing line used to mimic the ligament with decent success on the 2nd one. Lived to be 13 or 14. Had a great life! If you can afford it, do the TPLO surgery if that’s what they recommend.

Dang. My dog is only 5. Just had the vet stop by. They suggested resting her for 6-8 weeks and like dog tylenol. Not sure if we should go see an orthopedic person or not. She also said its highly likely the other one will get damaged now.
Yes, usually when one goes, the other one eventually does.

Had surgery on two dogs of mine for this and they were never the same. My advice is physical therapy which will do the trick really well if you have a good therapist. Most vets say surgery, but get a second opinion and don’t opt for that unless it’s the last resort.
Not true. My dog had surgery on both and was fantastic! The TPLO surgery is the best one to do and carries the best success rate. Go to a board certified surgeon to get it done. That gives you the best success rate.

I'm a little surprised that there was only a recommendation for rest and not surgery but I'm far from a vet.
So all I'll say is after reading everyone else's experiences, I understand if you're considering the second opinion.

UT is moving up the official announcement of Kellie Harper. Look for Fulmer to also announce that they are cleaning house with LV assistants and starting fresh. Inevitable, really, with the sour way the season, and Holly's tenure, ended.

I liked Kellie when she played here and my two girls did a camp with her years ago but not really excited about this hire. Seems to me we just went from sup-par coach to par coach. Not a home run hire at all. And yes I will throw out there the my cover in case she does really well, "but I hope she proves me wrong." Now I feel better. Have covered both ends. lol
