After he stood with us in a major way during the Butch and Schiano mess, I am fine with him. In fact, that is how I categorize my sports reporters-- with Vol Nation or against us. Those who stood with Currie and lectured us like Hyams have lost my respect. ( Ainge is a VOL, so I cut him more slack)

Agreed. Wes annoys me because of his Twitter persona and his tryhard writing style (he badly needs an editor, and I suspect his work hasn't been truly "edited" in years), but I do think he's a good guy overall and recognizes/appreciates the passion of the Tennessee fanbase. He's also toned down his "I'm totally a neutral, unbiased reporter covering the Vols through a passionless lens even though I'm a Knoxville native and went to UT" schtick.

i bet before it's all said and done, they find a way to turn all that in to something good for some charities in Knoxville/East TN.

Dead End BBQ actually offered to cater a charity golf tournament if he stayed instead of giving him free food....I like Dead End BBQ a lot more now!

Wes Rucker is a tryhard social media bloviator. He's pandering to the crowd and trying to build a social media following using content curation guidelines that look like something out of BuzzFeed's 2011 marketing playbook. He's inauthentic and everything about his communication style comes off as totally cringeworthy. His communication style would work if his content was putting together listicles for the soy latte crowd. It not at all effective for connecting with college football fans, and especially those who follow recruiting.
Dude. You nailed it.

i'm sure some of the other establishments will do the same. i could see the ice bears giving tickets away to youth groups, Smokies the same....with all the community work the athletic department does, i'm sure some partnerships with those establishments can be struck up to feed the homeless or do soup kitchens etc.....

no way he'll ever go collect on all that, and no way any of those places would balk at the request to help.

something good will come from it, i'm sure.

Stock & Barrel can hook me up with a few of dem burgers from time to time...all I'm sayin'

Just found out my dog has a partially torn CCL (ACL) has anyone ever had this happen to their dog?
yep. mine, last year.

my situation was made a little easier, financially, in that while being diagnosed with that, we also found cancer...wound up putting her down. she was 13, and no guarantee she'd even survive the anesthesia...even if she did, recovering from surgery on the leg, and tumors...quality of life would have been crap.

the acl alone was going to be between $1500-$2k.

Andy Staples was very pro Vol fan during the whole Schiano deal. He is the only national guy I can think of.

Dang. My dog is only 5. Just had the vet stop by. They suggested resting her for 6-8 weeks and like dog tylenol. Not sure if we should go see an orthopedic person or not. She also said its highly likely the other one will get damaged now.

yeah, over compensating for the injury. tough. hard to keep a dog that age immobile long enough for it to heal...the surgery as i understand it is not a huge deal, and takes about 6-8 weeks to recover....iirc. chance for reinjury is obviously high.

So Lawson was not being interviewed but was giving input on the hire?

Kara was never interested in the position. That was reported, but it wasn't true. She was on the hiring committee and her opinion carried major weight. It was a quick search and only took as long as it did because Fulmer had interviews set up at the F4 and talked to a handful of people there. Once a few top targets confirmed that they weren't interested, it was going to be Harper. Probably the most decisive and least dramatic search UT has had. The drama will come from LV fans hating on Harper before she's even introduced.

This is why I find it hard to trust a lot of the "leaks" from yesterday.
Fulmer has had at least two clean searches where you had a general idea who he was going to interview and when but didn't hear much beyond that and then in a short time, a decision was made and accepted.
During his football search, I think Mel Tucker (was it him?) was the only other name I heard.

Mel Tucker & Kevin Steele from all accounts were the only other 2 guys I heard...not sure if Steele was legit or just Hyams pipedreaming though.

Had surgery on two dogs of mine for this and they were never the same. My advice is physical therapy which will do the trick really well if you have a good therapist. Most vets say surgery, but get a second opinion and don’t opt for that unless it’s the last resort.

100% better. No snow. Less road rage (in Jacksonville not Miami or Orlando), The Beach, flip flops year round, green plants year around, no commute, NO STATE TAXES, less wear and tear on your vehicles unless you live a few blocks or less off the beach, unfiltered Florida man stories, hurricanes rarely hit Jax so that's not really a con, get to skip the ****** seasons like winter or the end of fall or the beginning of spring, casual business attire, etc.
I loved livin in Florida. I got used to beautiful weather in the winter and it has ruined me forever. I absolutely hate hate hate cold gloomy rainy winters now.

Sorry to hear that. Did the vet mention a brace? Sometimes a brace, PT and rest is enough if it's not severe.
