Rick Barnes has emerged as a serious candidate the for UCLA job, reportedly has interviewed

I think he is mostly posturing confidence and false bravado, but Bone has said, himself, that he plans on staying in the draft.

“Well you know that there is always a chance that I come back but honestly if I put myself in a position to go then I’m going all in,” Bone said.

CRB just does not seem like a " good fit" for UCLA, especially the left coast. He would face another rebuilding job and UCLA fans would not be as patient as UT fans were to watch him develop 3 star players over 3-4 years.
Check out UCLA’s roster. He won’t be rebuilding at UCLA. They have Brown a 7-1 five star and then they have a bunch of four stars. If he gets James to go with him, his team out there next year could be just as good or better than the team he had at UT this year.

They recruited five 4-5 stars last year and have a 4 star committed. That's not counting if Grant was to grad transfer with Barnes to UCLA. Hell they could be set up to win the PAC 12 in year one and try to piece together a run in the tourney.

Don't think he could get James out of his commitment. We would have to let him out of it.

Holy crap man, you're acting as if Tony is reporting the 2 hate each other. He's not, again please read and consider the context before bashing a guy. Again you have no idea nor do your "sources" about what goes on behind closed doors. Barnes doesn't have an agent so he's not using this for a pay raise, he himself has had contact with UCLA by his own doing.

That Fulmer better step up with what he wants or he's going to take that job. Fulmer probably should've faked it and shown him some more love and interest the past few months. It seems they aren't as chummy as they once were according to sources. As I dug into it last night, one hoops guy I talked to said that having an AD like Fulmer would be a perfect situation because he's basically left alone. Apparently, Barnes is looking for some attention from Fulmer. Or another way to say it is that he's been looking for attention from an AD that seems obsessed with football. Now, will Barnes really take that UCLA position as he's currently bluffing toward doing?

Barnes new during the tourny that the AD fired Holly and that he would be starting an intense head coach search. If CRB is that sensitive and expects full attention from the AD when he should be focused on the women's HC hire, than let him walk. IF this reason is real than its sad for a coach at this level to act like this.

Its almost like people are shocked the AD who is a former National Title winning coach at Tennessee is fully invested in helping the football program get turned around first and foremost....

Grant would not grad transfer to UCLA. If Barnes leaves he's going to the NBA

Lol. My contact is behind the closed door. Again he could take UCLA job. Highly doubt it though. A raise probably forthcoming.

And you know this for a fact how?

Here's the deal, Grant gets his draft grade and decides it is best to come back to school only for Barnes to leave for UCLA. So Grant has two options: Come back to Tennessee or grad transfer to UCLA where he would be the starting 4 and playing with a 7'1" center...... Grant ain't coming back to a Barnes-less Tennessee for sh!ts and giggles.
