Rick Barnes has emerged as a serious candidate the for UCLA job, reportedly has interviewed

Not at all considering the “crime”

Especially considering Frank Haith’s punishment, UNC’s fake classes issues, and Pitino sex club issues.

Bruce had a bbq and got the book thrown at him. Everyone could see there was zero consistency with the crime he committed and the punishment he was served among those other issues that actually benefitted each program on the court.

It’s also a relationship driven business and Fulmer was no fan of Mike Hamilton. Any other AD that was competent would have stood by Pearl and they would also know the show cause was a sham. Pearl also stayed in Knoxville until getting Auburn gig. He still knows all the power brokers, including Phil.

The “100% would never happen crowd” is crazy.
Bruce didn't get a show cause for having a bbq. He got a show cause because he refused to admit to a secondary violation and chose to lie, making it a major violation. IF he had simply told the truth, he'd have gotten a slap on the wrist and would have remained the coach at UT. I don't understand why some fans blame the university for choices made by Bruce. UT did not ask him to lie to the NCAA. Bruce decided to do that. Everyone enjoyed the Bruce Pearl era of UT basketball, but it came to an end because of Pearl's own actions. I understand forgiving him, but forgetting??? That, to me, is what's crazy.

I think Phil should interview Kentucky associate head coach Kenny Payne also along with Ole Miss head coach Kermit Davis.
You keep saying this. Maybe the 3rd or 4th time. Kenny Payne is an awful idea for a team that just won 31 games. If we hire an assistant coach to replace Barnes in the next month, Fulmer should be fired immediately.

All of the Bruce jock sniffers:

1. Chances UT would offer: <1%

2. Even if it did, chances that Bruce would accept: <1%

You would be more successful putting on armor and jousting windmills...
Completely agree on number 1. Completely disagree on number 2.

UT would never offer, but IF we did, Bruce would crawl back to Knoxville quicker than you can spell UT

Agreed unless it's Lanier who technically isnt an assistant coach lol

Save your breath. You're only going to get the same recycled rhetoric that minimizes his violations, and none of it will actually address your talking points. It will just be copy/paste of previous posts.

Warrior5 just posted in Recruiting Forum and said he has heard that Barnes is not leaving.
Obviously thing could change, but as of now he is staying

Just curious, but why does everyone assume he'd be so anxious to come back? He's winning at Auburn, has a program that covers his back, and Hamilton set him up to get screwed here over what should've been a minor violation.
Are you saying Hamilton told Bruce to lie to the NCAA? I don't believe that. Bruce chose to lie. He made his own bed.

Lets dont slam or give up on Barnes yet. Dont say something you will regret if he stays. Lets let this play out before we count Rick gone.
