Been an unexpectedly eventful night... Turning in but will check back in the morning. Hopefully, Barnes stays but this is a good program... I remember the panic when Bruce was fired 8 years ago and Vol fans saying he could never be replaced. We have had two different coaches make the Sweet 16 since then.

Agree. Even though Tennessee isn't considered a "basketball school", losing Barnes, especially to a left for dead program like UCLA, is a really bad look.

I think Barnes agreed to take less of a raise and re-allocate the amount to his assistants. In essence, the same thing, and the poster just misunderstood. Yes, paying out of pocket is a violation.

O think he actually did pay an assistant out of pocket not realizing it was a violation and had to report it as a secondary violation.
