The major cost of living difference between LA and Knoxville comes down to housing costs. Outside of that LA isn't much more expensive to live in than Knoxville. Utilities are actually 2 percent cheaper in LA. Household goods/food cost is only 9 percent higher in LA. The average cost of healthcare is actually 35 percent lower in LA. But housing is 327 percent higher in LA, a home in Knoxville averages around 156,000, in LA almost 700,000. I don't know that Barnes would be looking to put down permanent roots there so not sure that housing would be a huge factor.
