He's a good coach and would be a nice hire in my opinion If I were UT I would also throw money at Iowa State head coach Steve Prohm,North Carolina assistant Steve Robinson and Kentucky associate head coach Kenny Payne.

100% agree. Why leave Tennessee for UCLA? It’s not a better job. End of story. This is all noise folks. Carry on.

It does feel good to have a coach other programs actually want.

Could be doing a Urban Meyer (he doesn’t feel comfortable with his roster next year and is jetting so he doesn’t look bad). Without Bone, Grant, Lanier, and potentially Oliver it is a complete rebuild. We basically don’t have anyone that has been a true starter left or coached here from the beginning.

Broke the Chaney hire and definitely has several very reliable sources. The fact is the LA times is reporting Barnes isn’t happy, Basillio is just agreeing. So, get over it.

I can't count the number of just plain bad leads that Tony Basilio has gone public with over the last 20 years. His Lovie Smith rumor was definitely one of the worst. I do not believe that he has reliable sources at UT. He guesses and speculates.

Now, it does seem that Barnes may indeed leave. I hope he stays but it's not the end of the world for this program if he doesn't... and his replacement wouldn't have to be "Bruce or Bust" either. Tennessee has been to the Sweet 16 six times in the last 20 seasons with 4 different head coaches. We have the necessary resources to compete and have shown ourselves to be resilient. Buzz Peterson and Donnie Tyndall are the only truly bad hires that have been made (out of 6) since 1997.

Actually, Basillio has been the best source of info in the last year. He definitely has some sources and has broke some stories. Get over it. Called the Chaney hire way before it happened.

Barnes could leave but I 100% promise you from contacts inside the UT basketball program Barnes is not at odds with Phillip Fulmer or his pay/assistant pay or the treatment of him, his basketball team, etc. It’s simply not true.

I do remember them showing him on TV at our games at least a couple of times.
