Tebow > Fulmer/Crompton

You can continue to hate FL, Meyer and Tebow but you can respect the standard of humility and accountability they hold themselves to. Theses things are not mutually exclusive.

1. Real UT fans never ADMIT to being impressed by anyone from FL, LSU, GA, or the likes....

2. Yes, we realize Crompton's AND Fulmer's shortcomings...

3. At least Crompton hasn't cried yet....[/quote]

He may not have cried yet but if he watches the tape of his play yesterday, he should bawl his eyes out with embarrassment.

Hell, I have respect for Tebow and the Gators. They are good enough, work hard enough, prepare hard enough to kick our sorry asses every year lately. Give them credit, they are the better team. But I was glad to see them lose yesterday to Ole Miss.

I agree with LIO, when I read Tebow's statement, my first thought was: "Why weren't you already giving it your all?!" He's a good athlete in a system that works well for him and seems like a nice enough guy, but I think he may have a bit of an ego (esp. when a friend showed me his myspace page yesterday), which is understandable if he reads half the stuff written about him.

Tebow doesn't even have a myspace page. haha, you guys are clowns. Tebow is as humble as they come, you know it and so does everyone else, even though some refuse to admit it for some reason. I respected Peyton Manning. He was as humble as they got in his day, along with Danny Wuerfell. So what if Peyton played for UT and he dominates the NFL. He is a humble guy and you HAVE to respect that. Tebow is OUR leader, period. As a leader, he will take it upon his shoulders to ensure that his leadership is pushing everyone. This has nothing to do with him having an ego. Garbage.

OMG... I feel like I'm in junior high again reading what ya'll are saying about Tebow!! With the idiots we have playing for UT that end up on the wrong side of the law plus the morons in the NFL its nice to have a roll model for the kids to look up to. Ya'll are so bored with how bad we suck this year that you have to take your frustrations out on something or someone. Ya'll can't stand to have another SEC team with a quality person on the field. UT hasn't had a QB up to Tebows caliber since Manning. The QB is the on field leader of a team and when HE does bad the team does bad so yes that is an "I"!! And if you want to attack Tebow as a football player fine but why must you attack his off the field charity?? Does it make you feel small that you haven't given time to a good cause in a long time if ever so you make yourself feel better by attacking someone else. Ya'll need to grow up a little!! :boxing2:

Absolutely untrue. There'd be no sense playing football at all if there wasn't a standard of excellence among the SEC. I'm not going to respect someone who insults after winning by saying he was really "just bored" the whole game. He was upset because he didn't get to spend more time on the field getting all the attention he so desires. It wasn't good enough for him his team was doing well and winning....so, so much for your "team player" theory. It's not the first time he's made cracks on TN-before game weekend even came around he denied that TN was even a threat OR a rival. So, good athlete-sure, why not? But do I respect him? No-especially not when I have friends on this year's team who I know for a fact to be great athletes themselves and great people to boot.

And no, I'm not making any of this up:
Tebow's Heisman hopes nil - and he's 'totally happy'

I can't and won't respect him. I can't and won't respect Myer's program. I can and will give respect to players and programs who are willing to reciprocate it.

I don't really see where we can say our program is so much more respectful than Florida's.

A- I never said Tennessee doesn't have excellent athletes!

B- Honestly when was the last time UT was really a threat to UF?? In the past 6 years they have out scored us 156-66. Is that a threat??

How can you dislike him? How can you not dislike him? He's in love with himself, and it shows.

I don't know what it is. Do d-bags just gravitate to Florida, or do really talented athletes just tend to be d-bags?

Well, in all your Tebow a__-kissing, you never got to the part where you gave props to any of our athletes (and no, I'm definitely not talking about Crompton).

B...I used both the words threat and rival to differentiate between the two. So, no we've not been a huge threat over the past 5-6 years. BUT, rivalry is a totally different concept. And I think if you put a Vol fan and a Gator fan in the same room together, you'd see what I mean....they'd be at each others' throats.

Whom would you rather have at QB for us right now, Tebow or Crompton?

He guys, I'm not in love with Florida either. I'm talking about a single player, who is known as the leader of his team as a Junior (was known that way last year, too). He out works his teammates in the weight room, and apparently knows how to take a loss on the chin.

How can you not respect that? Because he wears a different uniform?

It's called j-e-a-l-o-u-s-y.

How is he in love with himself? He loves playing the game of football, he loves running over linebackers, he loves putting points on the board. He's good at it. So what? The only reason you hate him is because he plays for us. If Tebow were to set foot in Neyland wearing an orange uniform not ever having played for florida, it would be a totally different song you're singing. He's our leader on and off the field. He has passion. He strives for excellence. Maybe if you played Maryville High, Crompton or whoever else you want on the field would enjoy it too because he would be successful. Get off Tebow, he didn't lose us the game. He only makes us better. Hell, if we would have had someone else out there yesterday, we would have lost by a larger margin. Ridiculous all the homer-ism on here. Try and bring everyone else down with your failing program.

Is he a dinner roll or a toilet paper roll?

Why don't you crawl away to a Gator board? I personally couldn't care less about Teblow or the rest of your team for that matter.
