Yeah..pancreatic is what my family has dealt with. It took my stepdad after a two year fight..F Cancer!
I thinks we get 9 or 10 wins This year. And a bowl game win. We Hungry and Pruitt dont play to lose.

Interestingly...it has extremely high mortality rate, and his female cousin was diagnosed and started treatment for it within a month of his diagnosis. They were in the same stage of the cancers progress, and had the same surgeries and treatments, even had the same doctors...and she is in remission and doing well 4 years in.
I saw a huuuuuggeee squirrel running on the side of hwy 33 on my way down to Knoxville this morning.
Does anybody know what kind of squirrel it could be? It was a brownish/reddish color instead of light gray, and looked at least 50% bigger than a regular squirrel.

So very sorry. Prayers for your eternal beloved, for sure.I am usually reticent about such things, but being that it is my wife and not myself, I am more open about asking for intercession. My eternal beloved of 37 years was told today that she is going blind in rapid progression. Anyone who has the ear of the Almighty, your prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Jeff Fisher....that summabish played not to win. He would go from conservative to ultraconservative.all of that is probably true. we still don't have quite the horses we need on either side of the LOS to do that yet, against the top level competition in the SEC. and no one knows if we're going to be consistent enough at anything to beat everyone else on the schedule that's not at the top of the conf.
7/8 wins and a bowl is probably really good progress, all things considered.
and does anyone play to lose?![]()
As a History teacher and Historian I salute you for a solid effort. Hitlers problem was he let his hubris get in his way. You don't fight Russia and the U.S. at the same time. If he would have taken it one game at a time he may have won that thing, glad he was an overconfident, egotistical, sociopath. Well, ugh, you boys know what I mean.Charger - all the best to you for your procedure.
Thanks for bringing the topic of our head coach back up. I had a comment I put on hold when Ron dropped the "rumor" on us earlier. Anyway, my assessment of Pruitt is that he isn't Hitler so I think he's going to do okay. My reasoning follows:
Recently I re-watched the miniseries, The Winds of War. Then I moved on to the 13-part documentary, World War II in color. I’m only half-way through the documentary but I already suspect I know which side is going to come out the winner.
I’m not sure but my sense of things last year was that Pruitt was excessively committed to running the ball even when it was evident that we couldn’t. Additionally, I thought sometimes he put our defense in too many do-or-die situations. If the play works, great; if it doesn’t, the other side gets a touchdown.
There were whispers of tension between Pruitt and Helton last year regarding the offense. I like the way that apparently has been resolved. Chaney won’t take any **** from him. He’ll knock him down and sit on him if he tries to pull that Hitler act this year. I understand, I think, what happened last year. Helton was unproven and I think Pruitt in his own mind thought he knew better. The fact that he went out and hired a new offensive coordinator with a hell of a lot of gravitas suggests he knows he needs to get out of his own way.
I also like that Ansley will be calling the defense this year – even though he’s going to be a rookie at that task. I don’t mind Pruitt meddling in the defense because unlike a certain corporal he actually does have some stellar qualifications in that area. Also, I don’t think Ansley is a pushover and may help to check some of the “reckless” high school urges that Pruitt may sometimes have to deal with.
I give Pruitt an A+ for putting together and making adjustments to his staff so far. I give him a B+ for recruiting (if you wanted to grade based on circumstances it could be higher but grading based on circumstances ain’t going to win us any more games). I give him an A+ for pulling off two top-25 upsets in his first year and doing so with an inferior roster. I also give him an A+ for holding on to Fitz in spite of the strong lure Fitz had to join his pal at Maryland. I think many of these staff moves and the fact that he is giving up play-calling on both sides of the ball suggests to me that he is not Hitler, and that’s a good thing if we really do want to have a realistic chance of conquering the whole world. jmo.
Year 2 is when most coaches make their biggest jump. I'm not expecting a meteoric rise, but we have a lot going for us, so much so that I wouldn't surprised if we did hit 9 wins this year.
-Health.
-Upgraded OC's that allow CJP to be CEO instead of having to interject himself into every position room.
-Continuity at positions along the trenches.
-Health.
-Injection of big-time talent at OL and LB (and secondary with Fields and Tank).
-Competition bred from said injection of talent.
-Continuity with S&C and legitimate competitiveness in all areas of the program.
-Know-how of executing the spring, summer, and fall programs. No more looking around not knowing what to do, where to be, how to spend time.
-Health.
-And more talent on the way over the coming months. Give me Darnell and Savion to shoot to the top of the depth charts (plus maybe Henry To'oto'o, Simmons, and Harrison)
I think we could f*** around and accidentally beat Florida in the swamp (let's face it, we've had them beat the last two times we've gone there, and Mullen is respectable but not frightening). We could give UGA a game, but will still probably lose by 13-17 points. We could hopefully not allow Bama to hit 28 points until at least around halftime. But Miss State and USC are both very attainable. Kentucky is ours. Mizzou is tricky but winnable. If we beat UF, State, USC, Kentucky, and give Mizzou a game, there's no way we lose to Vandy at home.
We should see 7 wins next year. We could see 8 or 9. If CJP hits 10, he's hands down the COY by every outlet.

SIAP but it appears Buzz Williams is leaving VT to coach at A & M.
