I mean, you just have to ask, why didn't AA add anybody? We didn't have to add Kimbrel. There are a multitude of solid relievers available, at least relievers who are much better than Carle and Jackson. Why not add somebody? Anybody?Minter O’Day Viz Winkler hurt

What a disaster yesterday was
After really getting into the nuts and bolts of this thing, I can’t say we underachieved. Pretty much everyone who saw significant action, has overachieved. We are a bunch of 3 stars that no one really wanted. Barnes was a castaway. And these dudes won more in a 2 year stretch than any other team ever has in our history. They played over their heads so much they became victims of their own success. We had some obvious shortcomings that we couldn’t get over and that’s fine. With these shortcomings we probably weren’t ever the best team in the country, or even the conference, but hot damn they played like it at times. Go big orange. Support these boys.
The overachievement was getting to that position - so I guess you could say last year was the true overachievement. We were preseason top 10 and didn’t win any sort of SEC title and lost in the S16. Maybe underachieve isn’t a good word to use but this season wasn’t a success.
Wasn’t a success? Wrong again. And the only damn banner that matters is a National Championship. Now I wanted to win the SEC as much as anybody, but in the end it doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. You play to win it all, and we weren’t in that class. It’s ok, it’s literally one of the most productive seasons in school history by wins, and only one team has ever gone further. Perspective would do you well.We were preseason top 10 and didn’t win any sort of SEC title and lost in the S16. Maybe underachieve isn’t a good word to use but this season wasn’t a success.
I disagree that we weren’t in that class. There isn’t a team in the country we can’t play with. Maybe we had less margin of error, maybe not. That’s the debate point. The debate point isn’t whether we belonged in the conversation or not.Wasn’t a success? Wrong again. And the only damn banner that matters is a National Championship. I don’t think anyone would say it wasn’t a good year. But it’s an empty year.Wasn’t a success? Wrong again. And the only damn banner that matters is a National Championship. You SHOULD be smart enough to know preseason ranking aren’t worth the paper printed on. You said it wasn’t successful. I say it is.Again, preseason top 10: nothing to show for it. How can you not be disappointed?
I’d say a Final Four banner matters. I’d say a SEC tournament banner matters. Hell I still think a regular season conference title in college sports is important.
And perspective? I would like at some point for this program to maybe accomplish something actually meaningful in the postseason and I need perspective? Is it so much to ask that an a top 10 preseason team that won 26 games last year returned their top five players win some sort of title or make a Final Four? No it’s not.
I disagree here. With the talent RB has coming in the next couple of years and the ability to develop players, I think we'll be ok.I don’t think anyone would say it wasn’t a good year. But it’s an empty year.
And if all our guys leave it *mightve* been our best chance at a Final 4 for the foreseeable future but that’s yet to be seen.
