Villanova or Purdue?

It really does this time of year.

I dont think wed beat either team right now to be honest. Maybe earlier in the year.
Don't really understand that line of negativity... I think the best we played all year was one week ago today vs Kentucky... some of you guys are really doubled over with the blues.

First time seeing Purdue. Wish I hadn't watched. Bad matchup for UT...assuming we get past Iowa. I see no answer for Edwards. None.

Would need him to be as cold as the Wofford guard earlier that went 0 for...

(If you go by season averages) Well their O is not good, their %’s are not good, their D is no better than Tennessee’s. They don’t rebound a lot, but they are good at O rebounding % wise.....and Tennessee struggles there (D rebounding).

I know a guys size & skills aren’t factored in but if you look at the numbers D rebounding should be the only problem........ and Tennessee has a great O.

Purdue is built to win a tournament because they're really difficult to prepare for. Edwards is a matchup nightmare as he can shoot and take ppl off the dribble... and Haarms is a giant down low. We don't have anyone who could guard either

They got a bunch of big foulers. Concerning.

Lol. Wouldn’t expect anything different.

This looks like the Big 10 is legit. So Iowa may have several losses from being in a nrutal league. We may have our hands full tomorrow.

Best game of the entire season for Purdon't and Edwards. Please don't believe that is an accurate description of their everyday ability. They could have beaten anyone today with the way they played, but that isn't the norm. Not to say it can't be replicated but I wouldn't bet on it. We have to beat Iowa first, anyhow.

No kidding...he scored a career-high 42 points. They ain't playing like that again. Not to say they can't beat us, but that might've been the best game in Purdue history.

Actually, not even their high score in an NCAA Tournament game. I saw Glenn Robinson score 43 vs Kansas in TBA back in 1994 Sweet 16.

I agree. I've watched them all year and this is them playing way above their average. They played one other like this against Michigan State (blew them out). They also played a horrible game vs Indiana in which Edwards went 4-24 from the field. We'll see what version we get, if we make it through tomorrow.

And Cuonzo had 29... I think Purdue had 3 guys score.
Cuonzo was a very good college point guard. Keady was a hell of a college coach. Big Dog was my all-time favorite non UT favorite player. Hopefully, Carson Edwards follows up his 40+ point game with an under 10 point game against the Vols, next week. I think playing them and beating them last year will help us this year or at least I hope it does

They put Tennessee in a region with a weakness being everyones strength apparently. I dont see us making elite 8.

Well, when you talk yourself into 3-point shooting being the strength of every team you play even when it's not, this has the tendency to happen. It was Colgate's strength and it was obviously Auburn's strength. It's certainly not Iowa's strength and, outside of one guy (who there's a 50-50 shot as to whether or not he'll shoot well), it's not really Purdue's strength, either.

It was Villanova's strength, but we don't have to worry about that anymore, do we?

This is college basketball. You can find games where every team in the country got hot from three and won a game because of it.
