Revenge factor, I really don’t see them beating us again. I don’t think our players will let it happen. Plus 4th game in a row, gotta be tired. Play through grant

AU is a team that could put together a nice little tourney run if they get hot, theyre also the type of team that bombs out of the first round.
AU is dangerous, but I hate having a one dimensional team like that..

On another note..Seeing our guys next to UKs guys physically...It just goes to show there is a lot more to it, than just talent and size..Heck, UK just sends wave after wave of those huge athletic freaks at you...hearing Calamari piss and moan about Washington only playing 6 minutes in the first half being "tough" was a freaking joke..

Man I love this team..I really hope they can win tomorrow so they can have something real to hang their historic legacy on..that banner would mean a lot and they deserve at least that much for all they have done. The Dance is a crapshoot, who knows what happens there..

Gonzaga gets a 1 seed because it passes the “eye test”, but plays a weak schedule. They lost to TN, UNC and Saint Marys and play a high school schedule. UT has the better resume but no eye test, makes no sense. Why is Michigan state being mentioned as a possible 1 seed? They have some bad losses.

The simple fact is Gonzaga is #2 in NET. Would have to break down the formula to see why, it's an easy to find on Google. If I had to take a stab, I'd think margin of victory/efficiency has a lot to do with it. Actual scoring margin is capped at 10 pts a game, but efficiency is unlimited. If they won all those Ws with outstanding efficiency and scoring margins, they'd rank highly with NET. Fwiw Zaga is #1 in scoring margin at a blistering 23.8 pt scoring margin.

But their quadrant 1 record should be a big knock on them too. 4-3 in Q1. We would be 10-4 with another win. Will NET overpower this?

Like the football playoff, it will be interesting to gauge how the committee views these separate items and weighs them.

I don't know if they are doing autographs at the spring game, but if they are it would be great to have the BasketVols there. These guys have brought so much of the younger generation back to the VOLS. So many sparkly eyed kids at the games and looking up to Grant, Admiral and Bone as they sign autographs for them. Not to mention, College students lining up and staying in tents to get tickets for the games.

Still don't get it. Our team was beating better teams by 10 or more points, we beat Gonzaga, lost very few games (Bad loss Auburn??? seriously? The ranked team we are playing today?)

But to your greater point, 'tnhunter', the eye test...I think it's a load of garbage. I trust in the numbers, not human eyes. Billy Bean proved it in baseball and the best gamblers prove it in every other sport. Bilas can have all his eye tests. He's a fool for denying the numbers for his inflated sense of perception.

By this I mean the numbers will keep changing down to the very last conference tournament game, as they should. If your perception of your "eye test" is so entrenched as to be immutable, then your system, good sir, sucks!

Idk I'm just trying to lay out what the committee uses to decide. There's a reason it would be a close call between the two, it's splitting hairs. Both have good arguments.

But I wouldn't get too caught up anyhow. Being the last 1 or the first 2 is pretty negligible and they end up facing each other anyway.

Hell, a 2 might even keep the chip on our shoulder! We love the underdog role!

Most of our wins were by double digits. We were no.1 the longest in the country. We played almost the exact schedule as KY, but KY should have been a 1 seed by according to some experts. KY had a bad loss to seton hall and lost to Bama. F it, make TN a 2 seed, the team plays better when their disrespected.

I believe I read on bleacher report that KY should be the first 2 seed instead of TN lol

Feed the ball the Grant tommorow. Early and often.
Yes yes yes!!! I want to destroy Auburn by 30! Leave no doubt to the committee that we are a 1 seed.

If we do get a 1 seed, I would almost guarantee they will put UNC as a 2 seed in our bracket.

Just win today. One game at a time.

At this point, I just want the best bracket for winning-- doesn't matter if it's 1 or 2 seed. Don't want to find ourselves in a Syracuse bracket (for example) and have to play them early.

Bingo. And there's so much luck involved there. Had the perfect placement last year. Do we get back to back easy bracket roads? Fingers crossed.
