White supremacist mows down mosque in NZ

He sure as hell has a hand in the rise of white extremism, white supremacy, neo-Nazism, and proto-Fascism worldwide. Bitch at him about it when he opens his mouth and strategically decides to keep it shut.
You're delusional. Seriously, I'm not joking. You're a complete nut job.

No, those have all existed well before Trump. There might be more attacks then say 5 years ago but that’s because of anger, since Trump isn’t who they thought he was when they voted for him. Which was actually mentioned in the article you shared earlier.

Not to mention social media wasn’t around in the 90’s and now anyone can post any stupid sh!t, it get a couple thousand RT’s and people think it’s a popular view point.

Blowback to more diversity in government and society? Maybe, white-lash to President Obama resulted in Trump's election. I don't think recognizing the obvious privilege that whites have had in the US for a few centuries has had any effect on the rise of white nationalism. It wasn't like we as white folks weren't aware of the advantages. I think it is the realization that equality is starting to approach reality that is freaking some people out. It has nothing to do with guilt or shame.

Bigotry is wrong, indeed.

Lmao. A lot of this is so stupid. A good chuckle to start the day.

You and marcus are saying that they all (or the vast majority) hate us and either want to kill us openly, want to kill us secretly, or implicitly support the ones who do mean us harm. Even the "insincere" ones can't be trusted.

You don't see how such a simple, black and white assessment of an entire culture is the exact type of thing that would give some psycho the moral authority in his head to do something like what just happened? If you essentially think they're all evil and all mean you harm, is it that big of a leap to consider taking preemptive action?

I like you joe, Marcus too, y'all are good dudes but this tribal stuff is just not helping anything or anyone.
This particular situation is the outcome of a larger problem that has been documented in research. White nationalism and hate groups in general are on the increase. There will be much more of these types of attacks over the next few years.

Hate groups also include black nationalists, which have seen an increase in the last few years, as well as fundamentalist Muslims, Jews, and Christians. Just thought I'd mention that before I get labeled as a white hating commie.

It would help if “groups “ of people would condemn others from their “group” for ridiculous behavior.

Christians or Baptist share a name with one of the worst groups I can remember. Westbroro Baptist Church. (Who gives a **** how it’s actually spelled). Those guys are a special bread of scum. Anythime they show up there should be others there from different Baptist churches condemning their words and actions. People fear “all” Muslims because they don’t speak out publicly against the extreme beliefs. It could be that the moderate Muslim is also afraid of the extremists but that’s a different conversation

He's got a point.
This board: Islam bad, one Muslim's actions speaks for the entirety of the history of Islam and all two billion Muslims worldwide..
Also this board: Christianity good, don't confuse us with some fringe idiots that do horrible things in the name of Christian faith.

There is an extreme double standard.

They don’t speak out to distant themselves from the extreme.

Can you point me to anything that backs up your claim?
I posted a thread earlier from SPLC, evil posted an excellent article from the New York Times. Dink talked about Anderson Cooper's monologue, which should be mandatory viewing for all of us in this thread. I've got a thread buried in another page discussing it.

Going to need some numbers before I believe any of this horseshizz.

Making fun of "thoughts and prayers" is just worthless. People have basically turned the phrase into a meme.
Frankly, thoughts and prayers have always been a way for the people telling people about it to feel better. It serves no purpose and usually makes things awkward toward the directed person.
