Yall May babies, April life right here! And yea, I had to make a decision as to what I wanted to do when I got outta the military and my squadmates all pointed me to coaching, so I'm goin back to school in the fall. Buddy of mine attended the coaches clinic at UT and I'm grabbing all the notes he took and we're gonna pour over all of it together.

Nice to meet a fellow shipmate.

I would love to see the stats on this, just to put the topic to bed.

1) how many 10-millionaires exist in the US
2) how many of those gained the majority of their wealth via trust or inheritance
3) how many of those actually created something that lead to their wealth

Because I guarantee opposite ends of the spectrum are going to see things their own way.

In my thirty plus years of surveying and studying millionaires, I have consistently found that 80 to 86% are self made. That also applies to decamillionaires.

I didn't know we were grouping by Months now (my profile says April but mine's really March). Where are my March brethren and sisteren at?

I was going to be an April baby, but thank the Lord He knew better than to give me that misery.

(note: Time of possession is a meaningless stat modern analytics has shown. Efficiency when you have the ball is all that matters. Iirc Auburn had about 50 points and 8 min ToP in the first half of their bowl game).

Not arguing TOs killed us, but UF still beat us play for play. I think using total yards, 1st downs, punts, etc doesn't make sense for this game. All it took them was getting a TO on our side of the field and 2 plays later they were in the end zone. 25 total yards, 0 1st downs necessary.

They did all that damage in a measly 53 plays. BUT it wasn't just short fields, they straight up beat us play for play:

Rushing YPC:
UT - 2.9
UF - 5.9 (double us)

Passing YPA:
UT - 8.3
UF - 9.8

On top of the big rushing discrepancy by carry, our poor rushing efficiency is magnified when you realize we spent a whopping 54 plays trying to run, all for 156 yards. That was 68% of our playcalling that game. We never had much of a chance with that, combined with them gaining yards with ease.

They had better talent and coaching that day. Likely will be the same in 2019 with a young OL and pedestrian DL. Maybe we can equal their talent by 2020.

The original Will Wade. Why do y’all think he was at MTSU for so long?

Middle Tennessee coach resurrected career after being connected with SU's NCAA issues in 90s

MTSU actually stuck with him. While he had winning seasons, it took him 11 seasons to make the NCAAT.

I have a good friend who is a MSU alum, and he says Kermit thought he would probably get that job but Rick Ray was hired. Not only did his dad coach there, but Kermit played there, his daughter graduated from there, and his son in law played golf there. He wasn’t happy and is now at their rival.
