I looked at the schedule last night for first time. I think we lose to Florida, Georgia, and Bama. That MSST game being in Knoxville pushes it to a win for me.

This schedule sets up nicely IMO.

Stop me if you have heard this one... much depends on OL play though.

I’m not convinced we lose to Florida this year, not even in the swamp. Actually, I’m not totally convinced we lose to anyone this year, not yet, (got to be proven on the field), but I’m especially not convinced we lose to Florida. Last year in raw numbers, Florida was ranked #21 in returning production; we were ranked #113. This year in raw numbers we are at #2 and Florida is at #26. I’m not saying it will be an easy game but I ain’t scare one bit. Besides, in checking around it looks to me like somewhere in the neighborhood of over 85% of our guys have experience flying on airplanes. I’m figuring we got this one, at least for this year. #WGWTFA

Man. This is going to be so.much.fun. I can hardly wait.

I see a situation where Bama is the only unwinnable game next year, UGA isnt unwinnable being at home but is unlikely. UF not too far behind that.

The rest of the games on schedule are completely winnable and wouldnt be surprised with a victory in any of those games.

Doesnt mean we will go 9-3 but there's no excuse not to at least 7-5. We have too much returning, upgraded staff, brought in a group of new players that are gonna contribute right away, and not to mention two consecutive years under the same strength coach.

You are right though, it all hinges on that OL. I cant see though how we dont at least take a step forward there next year. Other than Smith likely not being back (and we pretty much played the entire year without him anyway) we didnt lose anyone, and everyone is bigger and stronger. That alone is going to help tremendously. And i think Chaney is going to make a REAL difference with the offense in general but I suspect he'll be helping with OL a lot too.

Gonna be a loooooooong offseason, because of the anticipation to get year 2 under Pruitt started.

Same here. 31 yrs. There is only one true definition of true love. Agape. Unselfish, always putting your wife first or husband whatever the case may be and never expect anything in return. I don't do things for my wife expecting anything for it. I do it because I love her and it gives me so much joy and fulfillment to see her happy and taken care of. The commit above about open marriage being better than close isn't true at all.
20 happy years for me boys. My advice for anyone getting married, watch the scene in the movie Shenandoah of Jimmy Stewart giving Newlywed advice to the guy whose marrying his daughter. I'm sure the clip is on youtube.

My advice is when you are young marry a stripper because of course then you are thinking with the wrong head, then experience everything that can go wrong with a marriage...get a divorce, take a few years to have fun and find yourself, then find your soulmate and use what you have learned to have a happy life.

Worked for me.

More on the Florida match up:

Last year’s game was primarily decided by our turning the ball over 6 times. In first downs we outpaced Florida 18-14. Granted our turnovers gave them a lot of short fields but they still ended up punting 7 times to our 3. Both teams were 4 for 4 in the redzone. On 3rd downs we were 8 of 18; they were 3 for 11. In total yards they had a small edge at 387-364. We held the ball for over 34 minutes on offense to their approximate 25. If we don’t turn the ball over that would have been a much better game and that was with our rookies (#113 returning production) against their veterans (#21 returning production).

We gave them 24 points last year off of our turnovers plus a safety. They had one fumble and we turned it into a field goal.

This is a new year and this year we should see a different game.

Honestly it's the 80s style UT hat on your fish. Reminds me of the fisherman that would be on WBIR morning news before Bill Landry would come on.

Fishermen tend to be older too.

My largest concerns are the O and D lines. We have some very good talent, especially on the O line, but the best talent has no college/SEC experience. I see a lot of improvement in the Lb and Db positions, but without pressure on the QB, you never know what can/will happen.

Gotta say, I'm not feeling so hot about the Mississippi State game anymore. I know they're losing Fitz, Simmons, and Sweat, but they've got pretty good depth at QB and along the DL. Keytaon Thompson looks every bit as legit as Nick Fitzgerald, and IMO he's a more electric runner.

I think going chalk means we go 7-5, losses to UF, UGA, Bama, State, and Mizzou.

Granted, we went far from chalk last year, and I still think we're in for some possibly surprising progress in 2019.

I guess I don’t know who they have at DL. Do you know then? They lost 6 of 8 in the two deep on the DL.

Just don’t have any kids in that first one.

That roster is really good. They will be in year 2 of Moorheads system which Fitz didn’t run well at all. Wouldn’t surprise me if they are right around 9-10 wins

I have a real good friend who is a State alum, and he said last year’s defense was the best in their prigram’s history.

I get that they will still have a good offense, but they lost a lot on defense. 6 of top 8 in the DL, maybe one LB, and several in the secondary. It’s still a winnable game.

They did lose a lot. Last year they started the season ranked 8th in the country in returning production (#19 on offense and #22 on defense); This year they'll start off at #92, #81 on offense and #90 on defense. They do have a top 25 roster from a talent perspective and the development program Mehlen left behind was I think pretty solid but they're no Alabama or Georgia. With their talent level they need experience to even the playing field or to give themselves an edge.

It is possible that this could be a sloppy game for us what with our victory in the swamp and coming off of the emotional high of our upset win over Georgia the week before. I'm not sure we'll have acquired enough maturity by then to keep our feet on the ground and our head out of the clouds. jmo.

Bruh advice needed:

Hometown buddy just invited me to a Vegas trip. He just got married, as did I. Other 3 are wild singles clearly going for the "vegas experience". On one hand it may be my last shot of a guys' trip to Vegas (we are mid 30s). On the flipside, could be slightly...dangerous. I 99% trust myself and wife would know SCs are in play, nothing unusual and nothing more. But the single guys may mean a little trouble. I'm a bit torn. It's probably nothing wilder than an average bachelor's party, on the flipside I know Vegas can be intoxicating.

Younger guys, older wiser men - WWYD?

One afternoon you get a poolside cabana with your bros, meet some girls on a bachelorette party, pop a few bottles together, have some entrees. Before the sun goes down you get your tab for $16,000. Turns out there are some minimums and hidden fees. If that doesn’t scare you I don’t know what will.

I mean, my wife would be fine going to a SC herself. She's brought up having 3somes before. She's pretty open.
That's more information that I needed, but, obviously, you can do what you want. If your wife is good with it, far be it from me to criticize.
