I think this is exactly why many of us grew tired of baseball. Teams stayed together longer and you grew to know the players like Eddie Matthews, Hank Arron, Chipper Jones, Dale Murphy, Glen Hubbard, Ralph Garr, Pat Jarvis, Cleat Boyer, Bob Horner and many many others. Now a play sticks around maybe two years and gone.

But I still love the game. I went to the Ray games in St Pete when I could, but closely following the el cheapo never spendo Rays was a exercise in futility..

I love the game itself, but the framework of MLB is rotten. It is very sad to me.

You know nothing about baseball, you have said so yourself. The anticipation when it is played at it's best is the beauty of the game. I'd rather watch a well pitched, greatly defensed baseball game, than a poorly played, butt ugly slopfest basketball or football game anyday. That is the epitomy of boredom to me. There are a lot of sports I like to watch when played at their best, but none I like to watch when played poorly.

I'm a pretty open minded guy, but the only sport I truly hate..is freakin soccer.

It’s BLOCKING. Freshmen emerge every year. Trey Smith didn’t know what he was doing all the way to second team all-conference. Give me a kid that brutalizes the guy he blocks without knowing the nuances over the guy that gets his azz kicked but knows why...any day.

Not enough. Watch the same shizz I did? Trick question...I’ve heard you moan. 😎 Harkens back to human turnstile Brett Kendrick...VN OL experts continually droned on how he graded out better than Chance Hall or Jack Jones. Leaving out the trivial detail that MAHONEY and Jones were grading the papers! I watch beasts that make their assignment move the other direction and pass em with a smiley face.

Welp...If they are the best, then they should play, I just don't want to burden them with those expectations right off the bat, but if the coaches start em...then so be it. I hope they don't get their teeth kicked in.

Here's why I think at least one freshman starts on the offensive line.

Returning OL:
Brandon Kennedy - Injured and missed all but 1 game
Riley Locklear - Junior with just 10 games of experience under his belt
Nathan Niehaus - RS Junior with just 10 games of experience under his belt
Jahmir Johnson - RS Junior started all 11 games
Marcus Tatum - RS Junior with a total of 18 games under his belt
Ryan Johnson - RS Junior with 24 games experience
Jerome Carvin - Sophmore with 12 games experience

So essentially you've only got 3 guys with more than a year of experience (Kennedy, Tatum, Ryan) and Kennedy is coming off a major injury. So I feel like since no one else has more than a year under their belt if a freshman is a stronger talent (and we've got 2 5 stars) they'll get the job.

C - Kennedy
G - Ryan Johnson
T - Tatum

I think Carvin/Johnson could be the other two starters...but depending on how strong the incoming goes show out I could see one of them winning the job outright as well. Truthfully I feel like Ryan Johnson & Brandon Kennedy will be the only two returning OL guys to for sure be starters. Think the rest of the guys are going to have to earn it

It’s both knowing the game and just personal preferences. I watch most or all of probably 80% of Dodgers games in a given year and I find them very engaging. But say, water polo, for which I don’t have as much depth of understanding, just not gonna hold me.

On the other hand, years ago I loved to spend a Sunday afternoon watching NASCAR. Can’t hardly make myself give a damn anymore, not sure why. I think maybe I started getting turned off as it seemed to get more caught up in offtrack soap opera drama like wrestling as they tried to get or keep an engaged audience. That’s probably kinda like you with baseball in a way, where external factors overshadow the game for you.

Also, perusing Tiger Droppings definitely gives me an appreciation for Volnation. Their board is terrible and the majority of their board members make our Football Forum posters look like rocket surgeons.

Reading "Frick Aleva, Frick Alexander" over and over is worse than watching women's basketball followed by an MLB doubleheader.

I have tried to watch the program a couple of times, but just couldn't manage to maintain my attention.

I do know that it's a 99.1 Sports Animal show:
