When is playing time is over, I sure hope he finds a way to stay in Knoxville. He will succeed at whatever he does and if that had something to do with UT, we'd all be better off for it.

We have been truly blessed as fans the last few years, and I think we will continue to be throughout Barnes career. We have had players that not only get it done on the court, but have proven to be exceptional young men in every aspect of their lives. I think Admiral probably had a lot to do with this. A great young man that was raised to know that respect is not something you are given, it is something you earn or lose by the way you live your life. Admiral has lived his basketball career at Tennessee in the way I hope all of our players do....committed to his teammates, dedicated to personal improvement, unmistakable passion, and just the right amount of swagger. Unselfish and unassuming in many ways, he is a credit to his family, his coach, his university, and ultimately to himself. I can't wait to watch his last game in Knoxville tonight....and to see where his heart and passion take us over the next few weeks.

On the footsteps of the “Thanks Tyndall” thread I thought I’d also get strategic with the thread title.

Now that I’ve got you here, enjoy this touching article about a moment that Admiral shared with his father this past weekend after the game. As senior day approaches it’s crazy to think about how far he’s come these past few years. As a freshman many of us thought he’d never find his true position as a 6’5” teenager with a doughy physique known more for his rebounding than his abilities as a guard. A lot of posters in here, myself included, wondered if he’d transfer after insiders reported that he was in Barnes’ doghouse the summer before his sophomore season. Crazy how much things have changed in the years since.

I’m proud of Admiral’s progression and without his production as a scorer and his physicality on the perimeter there is no way we’d be sitting at 26-3 with 2 regular season game remaining.

I first watched him as a freshman here in Indianapolis during an early-season loss on the road in historic Hinkle Fieldhouse against the Butler Bulldogs. His growth and success in the years since is a testament to what happens when kids buy into the team-first culture than Tricky Rick has brought to the hill.

Thanks Admiral!

I'd like to know what earned him his Hawaiian suspension. Too bad Mostella couldn't respond to the discipline dished out by Barnes as well. Admiral did a 180 and is going to be an all-time favorite and great VFL. DM will soon be forgotten.

Im still not certain he has any more than a cup of coffee in the NBA but he has progressively improved to the point that he has become a damn fine ballplayer for us.

Wish they all worked out as well as he has.

Kyle Alexander has worked out well too.
