There’s no such thing as SEC refs
Exactly, they’re private contractors. There is no such thing as Conference refsThat's not really true. The officials are contracted and usually work 2 or 3 conferences. Since they are contracted annually by the conference they are their officials. There is a conference employee that assigns officials to games. The SEC and most major conferences have offices relating to officiating where performances are reviewed and schools can make their complaints. They take their orders from headquarters like everybody else does relating to areas of emphasis. As an example, TV Teddy was booted from the B10 after last season for poor performance and showboating after having been contracted to them for over 30 years.

How did this get to the LSU ref lol.The SEC office chooses each year who they contract. Then they assign which officials they want to work specific games. Before the season they explain the points of emphasis with officials as well as teams.
The officials they choose have track records relating to teams, # of fouls, type of fouls, etc. StatSheet was a site that formerly provided great info on it.
So if you know in advance Bayou Bengal's historical record, which they do since he has worked the SEC for a long time, why would you at the SEC office assign him to work an LSU game against the top team in the SEC? Answer: to achieve the desired result if at all possible. This is not hard to understand.
Today was the same as Lexington. We just beat UK and the officials badly to where they could not achieve the SEC office's desired result.
