When I was 15, I started working at Baskin Robbins. Joined the gym next door. Started in the Spring before school was out. Would work, eat ice cream and then workout after work. Once Summer hit, I would workout before and after work. I also ate a ton of ice cream. When I started, I was 5â 11â and 135 lbs.
When School started in the Fall, I was 6â and 175 lbs.! Over the 5 months I had grown 1 inch, but added 40 lbs. I totally attributed it to finally getting enough calories AND really hitting puberty (late bloomer) . Before, I might have had 2K calories and was just maintaining my skinny self. My appetite grew enormously once I started lifting. I couldnât get full. Looking back, my daily intake increased by 2-3K calories per day at least.
When I started school in the Fall, my school friends didnât recognize me. Lol, the coaches asked me to play football. Everyone accused me of doing Roids. No one believed that I just did it with weights and ice cream.
Back then, no one did Summer workouts and conditioning at the high school level.
I f it hadnât happened to me, I would not have believed it at all...
