I hope we run the table and lose the first round of the sec tournament. I know that sounds odd, but a week off between tournaments would benefit us far more than playing on Sunday in the sec tournament.

I think it's a conspiracy. It's on huge display this year. The officiating this year, while sucking, it was consistently bad. Starting with the KY game the officiating changed with a flip of the switch. They are now allow teams to physically beat the crap.out of the Vols. Conversely on the other end they are not allowing the Vols to play with the same physicality. They just about fouled all of our guards out today and most of them were just ticky tack fouls. The league is 100% working against us every game. Imo

Motive? Why do ALL the refs have a hidden agenda to screw us? We got bad calls, didnt overcome. This game wll not matter come March.

If it is a conspiracy or the SEC office has something to do with it then Barnes needs to let the media have it. I know he could get fined or suspended but it would be worth it not only for basketball but for football as well.
At the end of the day though this team is trending in the wrong direction and hasn't looked good in over a month. And they aren't playing with any kind of smarts

Yeah, I'm just saying they've been responsible for their poor play and they control their desire to play better. I think they've choked away their best chance to hang a banner and they won't be getting much benefit of the doubt, but they can decide to get back to playing at a higher level... IF it means enough to them.

He was playing more than the game. He was almost yelling at Anthony Jordan. He got upset at the no travel call when Bone lost the ball, but I believe the officials were correct. Those officials got scared of him, and they made a make up call several times after Wade got mad.

The motive is to protect KY. A strong Tennessee hurts KY both in the long and short term. Just like a strong FSU hurts Florida.

Love what Barnes has done with this team this year.

However, Past 2 out of 3 games with UK and LSU our guys have gotten mauled inside with several no calls and significant FT advantage to opposing team.

Wish Barnes would be more vocal and aggressive and defending his players against the refs during the game.

I would think it would have more of an impact throughout the game and come crunch time in these last few minutes for our team.

I did and I know he was. But by the time he got there, LSU had possession. He didn't have to do what he did there. Bang bang play and all... But just wasn't a very heads up play for a player of his caliber.


Edit: that's not why we lost... Abd I'm not saying it is. We have had plenty of other opportunities to win that game.

Man, I hate to hear that.
Never dealt with that situation but heard it's awful. I was hoping there was a preventative medication by now. I'll keep you in my thoughts and just let me know if there's any way to help.

You just can’t criticize for that. He was already moving forward and couldn’t stop on a dime. No one gained an advantage, so it should have been a play on. I am sure we had our chances, but it’s tough to watch probably the back to back player of the year get some bad calls the last few games. Time to move on.

I'm not placing all the blame on the officiating but I do think it's taken it's toll. I think the players are frustrated for multiple reasons, one being on the short stick of the officiating for a while now. Even when we've won we've had to overcome some biased officiating. Barnes seldom gets on the refs where many coaches are on them the entire game, Wade today for example. I think sometimes the players see that and don't think the coach has their back. I saw 2-3 calls today where Tennessee got a call and Wade wore them out and on the very next possesion they came up with some mysterious questionable call to give it back to LSU.

See my edit. But you can be critical of this team the way it's played the last week or so, certainly.

Just have a feeling that some of the players feel like Barnes doesn't do enough during the game to work the refs and have their back during those questionable 50/50 calls or blatant calls against us.
