If not Kesling, then who?

Need to groom a young guy from UT to emulate JW and hire him. If he works out just keep extending him and make it a carreer.

I prefer Mike over Bob personally. When Mike gets excited, loud, and I hear that emotion in his voice it gets me fired up. It is the main reason I prefer him. Everyone has different tastes and preferences though. IMO when Bob gets excited calling a play that is when he starts stammering, rushing, and mispronouncing player names more so. Which is somewhat understandable I guess. Bob does do a good job in basketball.

One thing I miss about John Ward was his ability to describe the atmosphere and provide details of a play as the play is happening better than anyone. Most announcers give the nuts and bolts of play then provide details after the play ends. Whereas JW could provide those details during his primary call of the play. He never seemed to rush either. Haha I remember sometimes on touchdown plays. Because he would take the time to provide those details players would already be celebrating in the end zone and JW would just be getting to his signature 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 5. He was the absolute best ever and I miss the sound of his voice.
And he was generally 5 or so seconds behind the play. Not a bad thing but in todays environ with the availability of so much media coverage staying caught up with the play would not have been one of JW's strong point.

I used to hate it when Ward did that. He was a true pro, but he was notorious for dragging out a play.

It's

It's the Nashville Titans, for cryin' out loud. John Ward turned down other jobs including the NFL & said he had the "best job in sports." I recall that Mike Keith wasn't even given a chance at the UT job; it was Kesling's all along.
You need to take off those orange glasses, sorry the NFL is just a better gig and I’ve been a Vols fan for years. Just the facts.

My understanding is,Mike Keith was supposed to replace John Ward after his retirement. Then the Oilers-Titans came to Tennessee and Keith was hired by the Titans. It's hard to know if he would like to replace Kesling, but my guess is no!
