I'm really tired of all the negativity, am one of many really disappointed with our football program, tired of name calling, can't we all just get along and move on? We've got more games ahead of us, can't we at least show support through our disappointment and negative opinions?

We sure can in this household and hope others follow suite............

Yes we can. My fear is that the majority of the fanbase is going to leave until we improve. We are awful right now.

I applaud your attitude but would like to see if you feel the same way on Saturday night after we get embarrassed, again, on national television.

Only way we move on as a united fan base is when Fulmer is gone. Until then it's going to be ugly. Even afterward there will be fans who for whatever reason are bitter. Only way this goes down in a civil manner is if Phil steps aide and he said last night he will not do that. IMO, Fulmer is hoping that the spectre of a nasty public firing will give the boosters who lost faith cold feet.

Move on? And just be fine with the fact that our proud football program is now a joke?

Are you married, a mother? Would you stand by and just "get over it" as a loved one sunk lower and lower in a downward spiral?

Maybe that isn't the best analogy, but Tennessee football is very important to me and most of us on here. And we can't just accept the current state of affairs. We have too much tradition, too good of resources, and too much passion to accept what we are being dealt. Its quite obvious that Phil can't compete in the current SEC. The longer we wait to make a change, the longer it will take to get back on top.

Yes I am married, yes I am a mother but heck, the only way up is by going up... I love Tennessee football and even though we might be spiraling, I won't give up my support... we might be the worse in SEC but being negative only makes it worse... Tennessee is well aware of our problem, maybe change is in our future...

I have to agree with you Volspeach. It isn't like the university, the coaching staff or the players don't KNOW we are in trouble. EVERYBODY knows. Now we have to show the nation that we are still the VOL Nation and regardless of our feelings for our athletic director, coaches, or players, we can only help ourselves by moving on and looking to the future. We have no control over what happens on the Hill, but we DO control our reactions to it. I am as frustrated as anyone (especially this week with a crappy avatar) but I am no longer going to wallow in misery and despair over something as trivial as a football team. I do think it is ridiculous that people earning millions of dollars cannot produce a better product, but that too, is out of my hands.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change (Head coach, OC, DC, quarterback performance)
Courage to change the things I can ( my attitude, my putting too much emotion into a game)
And wisdom to know the difference. (And that's where the line gets blurry. :) )

We have dealt with losses to Florida, a horrible run since around 2001 and have been critical after the 2005 season ( a season in which we had talent that wasn't motivated). Vol fans are worried that this university may be sinking too far into mediocrity and have no faith that Hamilton will right the ship. The only way we can get our point across to him is by voicing our displeasure as a fan base.

For those that feel sorry for Fulmer, keep in mind that he did not have a problem throwing Majors under the bus to get his job. It has come full circle and Fulmer has become the same guy that he didn't mind replacing. Do we really want to be Florida St. v2.0? We don't need another Bobby Bowden on our hands.

It's obvious from the players' post game comments that some of them don't care about the fanbase. They apparently do not need our support. They have their football family.

I guess. I'm acutally just hoping that if we keep talking about it the the media will keep talking about it and the predictions of Fulmer's departure will be become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Never heard that, but that is very true. There just aren't many coaches that go past about 5-7 years without it ending ugly.
