wow, that was a heck of a game this weekend...that Deon Grant INT will be remembered for years. What do you guys think about this upcoming matchup with Houston?

As opposed to all of our perfectly rational coaching debates?

I'm still mad about losing to Memphis State a couple of years ago and losing to Florida again last year...not to mention the Nebraska debacle you addressed. With the talent we have I would expect more.

yeah, the memphis state loss stung...

I think we have a chance to be pretty good this year, but I am not getting TOO excited. Especially with Peyton, Marcus Nash and Leonard Little off to the NFL now...

nice to finally break the 5 game losing streak to Florida though

In the Memphis St. game, the Memphis returner's knee was clearly down. That game was crap. What we need is instant replay to prevent those sort of blown and controversial calls.

I agree, but no sense in complaining about a loss from two years ago :)

2-0 so far!!

I like this thread. I am in my early thirties looking good and feeling good about football. My son hasn't been born yet so life is a less restricted on what I can and can't do. I'm drinking German beer from the tap and skiing in the Alps anytime I feel like it. Thanks man, I needed that.

Go Vols. Beat Houston!!

We're gonna drop 40+ on Houston next weekend. I'm not worried about them. I'm more concerned about that next game @Auburn.

So after the game Saturday I went to the mall to scope out hot chicks, long story short I end up dancing with some girl at Teen Night down at the club to "Too Close" You guys heard that song? Hilarious, and so utterly true.

Think I am taking her to see Patch Adams next week if mom will drive me.

For the Auburn game, I am going to St. Louis with my (first) wife so she can take a certification exam (which she will fail). I think I will watch the game in an Ozzie Smith sports bar. It just so happens that this bar will be where the Gator alumni club is meeting for their game with Bama.

Turns out 10 years ago I was obnoxious enough to have 2 or 3 Gator fans ready to fight me.

Jesus, I just realized I am a freshman in high school, and in the marching band... I don't like this thread as much now.

How bout that Clint Stoerner guy? I know it's a long way off, but he scares me. Kid is a baller.

I am a freshman at UT just hoping for something special in this, my first season as a full-time student.

some tough games coming up for us...@Auburn, @Georgia...Arkansas looks strong. I am still a little unsure about this new QB situation, but at least he has Jamal to lean on

Pretty much. :cray:

If did a 2001 retro thread, I would move up the social ladder a fair amount.

That the year you joined the yearbook staff?

just messing with you man, I think freshman year I was equal parts stoner and weird drama kid.

Me, too. My roommate and I are planning on making the trip. I think that if our defense can jump on them early and we can maybe get a big run or two, we'll be fine.

See, I was hoping I was the only one. I just really have an iffy feeling about this one. If we aren't up for it, they might do a number on us.

Still, I guess we should take them one at a time. Bring on Houston!

You know, I can't see Spurrier staying in CFB very much longer. I think he'll move on to the NFL and do great things.

Also, I'll be working down at Calhoun's before most home games so everyone come see me (and tip well!).

this is one of the best threads in a long time :)

This thread sucks. I am newly moved to Knoxville and married to a woman who will soon be sleeping with several different guys.
