The Atlanta Braves

If AA said “hey that’s too much for Realmuto” nobody has a problem with that.

What we are mad about is being lied too by ownership and McGuirk once again about money. Instead of going out and signing Grandal and Marwin for example, they took bargain deals with Mac and Markakis, both worse players than the two previously mentioned. That’s the issue

This this this.

We root for a team that has more or less sat out the marketplace over a decade. We have watched them tear a team down and rebuild it from scratch and lose 90 games three years in a row in the process, and they assured us repeatedly that when they were ready to compete again that there would be money to spend. And instead it's still the same damn cheap ass thing that it's been forever. Brian McCann?? are you f****ing kidding me?

This is a league without a salary cap. Spend some damn money or sell the team to someone who will.

It should be against league rules for a company to own a team in baseball. And even though Manfred reps the owners he can’t be happy that two division leaders not near the luxury tax (Indians) cut payroll this year and did minimal to improve the team.

The strike is gonna be a blast

Won’t be a salary cap but there’s probably gonna be some kind of floor and a lottery process for the draft.

Think there’s a decent chance we miss games for the first time in 27 years.

I know some of you whippersnappers are too young to recall this, but that last strike did serious damage to MLB. I still talk to old dudes like me who say they quit baseball because of it and never watched again.

Probably because it happened during August 1994 and cancelled the postseason. I do know the strike did damage.

Assuming this would be during the off-season, today’s world favors players way more than the 1990’s. The NBA had a lockout and lost 16 games and most fans liked the season started on Christmas and was shorter lol

I keep waiting for Arthur Blank to buy the Braves. Wishful thinking on my part

Why would he waste money on MLB? Without a monster TV deal where's the incentive? He's already banked his future on that MLS team (and stadium) as that team will be more lucrative in ~10 years than any NFL team imho -- given the decline of the NFL.

And Matt Williams was absolutely going ham at the time on dong jobs (RIP Scotty)...

Maybe it doesn’t have as big an impact as before. It’s a bad look either way.

Oh yeah I forgot we have the worst tv deal in MLB. Awesome

My dad. Being trying to get him back into it to watch with me ever since.

It definitely affected me as a freshman in college. Went from watching games often to paying attention to it seldomly and halfway during the postseason.

Really excited to see what Weigel becomes. He was gonna be in Atlanta’s rotation in 2017 before he got hurt
