They didn’t turn out well, but I had this discussion a while back in a thread. Many of the top tackles in the NFL now were undersized (as in, weight) out of high school. Backhtiari with GB was 266. Tyron Smith was 260. Lane Johnson was a QB at 202. Joe Staley was 225. Nate Solder was 240. Jason Peters played TE at Arkansas.

Everything about Butch just wasn’t good.

Fair apparently wasn't at the Memphis stop of the recruiting celebration caravan, either.
I was at the one in Nashville and he wasn't there either. It was Fulmer, Pruitt, Sherrer, Chaney, Rumph, and Tee. Chaney talked to me and my friends a few minutes and it was noticeable he had dropped 30 or 40 lbs

Dang...you seem to be purposefully stoopid sometimes...🤪

Ok...tell me your plan for how to change this that does not conclude in utter destruction to College Football..which includes our beloved Vols..
It’s stupid that I believe in free market for college athletes and the ncaa should stop exploiting them? Lol ok.

That is exactly what I'm saying...but according to Smokey..Hooray for him..yea..
Yea. If he “pulled the race card” to get eligibility good for him.

The ncaa can exploit athletes all they want but don’t you dare use a loophole in the rules for your own benefit!! How dare he

Be there when the convo is happening or keep skimming. Quoting posts 12 pages back. Lol. Nothing better to do on a Friday night?
Also...I'll say what I want to about it, when I want to. I like you and wasn't wanting to pick a fight with you, but I hate your take on this just as much as your hatred of the legitimate term used to describe something that happens all the dang time whether you like it or not.

I sit around two UGA grads and a Bama grad at work. When I saw the news on VN today I randomly bought up Ansley to see what they thought of him as a coach, knowing they would praise him but probably hadn’t hear the news yet. The Bama grad went on to talk about how great he was but he was coaching in the NFL now and that was his dream otherwise he’d still be at Bama and then one of the UGA grads said, “Nah, Kirby will hire him away from the NFL, just wait.” They then argued about whether he would come back to college and if he did, which of the two he would prefer. I finally stopped them and said, “Well, turns out he prefers UT over both your bum schools. Pruitt just hired him.”

I then walked off just like this:

if your understanding of any complicated situation can be surmised with the phrase "the race card", we've just got different worldviews, and i've got nothing for ya.

The problem is that sometimes it is a racial issue and there are segments of the population who automatically assume that it's just a race card being played.
That's because it is a large percentage of the time. Look I know it gets used wrongfully sometimes, but this ain't one of them times. All stuff like this does is create a backlash situation.

They don't work for free, they get a very expensive education.

So then tell me a plan that actually works. One that doesn't destroy college football.

You’re still talking about the Fields situation right? Because that situation isn’t complicated unless you mean playing time at UGA.
