Not really a Butch plan. As I said, it's not uncommon for HS TEs to grow into OTs. Aaron Douglas (RIP) played TE in HS if IRCC. Butch simply failed at player development of any kind.
Butch
JJ Watts TE
Brooks TE to OL
Antonetti TE to OL
Those are the ones I remember off top of head. How did they turn out.

Count me as the guy who couldn’t care less if he’s “pulling the race card”, ncaa exploits athletes all the time. Good on him for flipping the role and getting immediate eligibility
Dang...you seem to be purposefully stoopid sometimes...🤪

Ok...tell me your plan for how to change this that does not conclude in utter destruction to College Football..which includes our beloved Vols..

That shows that fan’s ignorance. We have ALWAYS recruited nationally and have the highest recruiting budget in the country every year.

We have zero problems going into Georgia and taking their players.

Our recent struggles were self inflicted by ineptitude

The last part is definitely true. But the recruiting budget is the chicken or the egg argument. I tend to be on the side of our budget being high because we HAD to recruit out of state. I don’t think it’s the other way around.

Historically, there is no doubt that UT had to recruit out of state and a number of SEC schools have players closer to their campus. That is changing, however, and we don’t have to rely on it as much. We have a much better chance of taking Georgia players when we are winning 10 games as opposed to 5.

i have. and i'm not gonna go crazy here.....but i'd bet he's gonna be able to beat out Maurer....at least as a true freshman.

Shrout....that's the wild card for me. he's been here for a year. interested to see if he pushes JG at all.

I like JG, not completely sold on him (a lot due to high staff over, watching him on field and of course, what I read, lol). What I think is that, he seems better when pushed by competition. Don’t know or think it might push him enough (certainly pulling for him, for the team and him). I never thought he had complete confidence in himself and at times it certainly showed, some of it is not, again, his fault. I hope CJC has a positive impact on him, if not, none of us will ever know what he could have been or not.

Hate in all its forms is disease. The only way we have ever eradicated a disease was by creating immunity to it, never by killing the pathogen that causes it. You create immunity by adaptation through exposure. In effect, your body learns to deal with it. There is a lesson there for anyone willing to learn it.

While I support a hate free world, it will never get accomplished the way people are trying to. Eliminating exposure will only create the opposite effect, and it is clear that is happening.
Thank you...great post.

Well damn...did not realize I was still at work. All this sensitivity and ethics training, sprinkled with a little vernacular education, is totally lost on the fact some folks think all white skinned individuals hail from a mountain range near Russia.

I propose this...although viewpoints differ, skin colors vary, and education is up to one's own desire and standards, the one thing that remains constant is that we all bleed...ORANGE!

Go Vols!!!
Lol..I wonder how many folks know where the word "caucasian" comes from..

They didn’t turn out well, but I had this discussion a while back in a thread. Many of the top tackles in the NFL now were undersized (as in, weight) out of high school. Backhtiari with GB was 266. Tyron Smith was 260. Lane Johnson was a QB at 202. Joe Staley was 225. Nate Solder was 240. Jason Peters played TE at Arkansas.

Execution by Butch just wasn’t good.
