Everything would have to perfectly fall in line to get us to 9-3, including the emergence of a freshman sensation Mauer on the scene.

I'm thinking 8-4. As the OL and DL go, so will the team as a whole. That said, I think JG is going to have a good year. He's under appreciated by many and underrated by even more. We have a veteran WR corps and an improved OL with potential. We'll see how it plays out with Richmond but, underachiever or not, we need him to stay for depth purposes, at the very least.

It will be our second year under Fitz, Sherrer, Rocker and Rumph. I expect a big difference in our conditioning because...unless you weren't aware...

I think 8 wins is a reasonable prediction for next all things considered....barring substantial injuries of course. On a team this thin, losing the wrong guys can devastate your seasons expectations.

The OL has to be better than last year. Pretty much everyone back plus Kennedy returning from injury. Even if neither Crouch or Wright start the line will improve. If either or both of them look like Trey Smith did as a freshman than there could be a large step forward. I think having an average SEC O-line next year is certainly possible.

Agree DL is a huge question mark. They'll need either instant impact from newbies or players that are already on campus and haven't produced before to start doing so just to be decent.

The schedule sets up much better this year, and I think several of the mid-tier SEC teams will take a step back (Missouri, Vandy, UK). So even if the lines struggle I could still see improvement.

I think you mean Wanya Morris, not Crouch, on the OLine. Good point about Kennedy. I also understand that the door may not be totally closed on Smith.

I also didn't mention Solomon on the DLine. I think it would change the whole outlook if he becomes eligible this year.

My point still stands though...Lot's of unknowns. We can project all day long but you really never know what you have as a fan until the pads start popping on Opening day. Excelling in practice does not necessaily translate to a ball game with a real opponent.

You call it hatred, I call it a lack of trust that he can get right between the ears. I would love to see it don't get me wrong. I'll eat crow ass for a month and have a big smile on my face.
I get it, but wanting Maurer to supplant him is hopeful at best. I don’t see that as a possibility. If he’s still here next year tho Bailey may supplant him

I just would bet Mauer has a better chance of getting us to 9-3 than JG. Just my opinion right now. Spring ball may change that.
