Ready for 2019 cycle to end. 2020 cmon

Same here. Looking like (assuming we get Darnell and miss on Henry) we're going to finish around #12 +/- 2 in the Team Recruiting rankings for the 2019 class. While pretty good from a national perspective it's average from a SEC perspective as that will put us at #7 in the SEC with Au, Bama, Fl, Ga, Lsu, & tAm, all ahead of us. I am excited with a lot of the players in this class and the strength appears to be the offensive line which is desperately needed.

Hopefully 2020 we can land a top 3 class.

This is where I'm at with Jackson. However, it's also the case with almost every other "great" NBA coach...they all had loaded rosters, whether it's Red Auerbach, Pat Riley, etc. To me, the general manager component of the NBA equation is probably greater than the coaching component...

In Red Auerbach’s case he was also the GM. Pat Riley was pulled out of the broadcast booth and won a championship assisting Paul Westhead and then took over and won 4 more as well as one with the Heat. There’s more to a championship coach than just the talent they’re allotted. Who’s the dude who put that Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp Seattle SuperSonics squad together?

Natural pullback? I’m not sure how much you’ve looked into it, there’s a bunch of factors at work.

I admit that I don't follow baseball as much as I used to. I am not sure exactly what you are referring to, but owners seem to be tired of the ARod, Pujols, etc. type deals. Sure, they did it in the first place, but the "natural pull-back" is that they aren't going to make the deals that they used to. It's simple economics. Salaries get out of whack, and things slow down. You can argue collusion all you want, but salaries have to stay within a parameter for the model to succeed. Additionally, analytics are more part of the game as ever before, and that doesn't mean spending money.

I get it- fans don't care about money problems on either side. They just want a team to root for.

Was not sure what you meant about the pullback. Thanks for expounding. You are right in how some free agency contracts have backfired and the way analytics are used have changed some ways of how players have been signed/acquired. There are other issues that will ultimately kick off a debate about unions/markets so I won’t get into it.

Braves have better.
Outside of Folty, we have an okay pitcher in Gausman, then inconsistent Newcomb and Tehehran, and then a bunch of young guys that look like the sky is the limit in Touki and Soroka, and Kyle Wright, but as is the case with all rookies, we don't know if they'll be good or not. Oh, and our bullpen is awful and was one of the worst in baseball last season. Really not sure how you figure our pitching is better.

Point is, the Phils and others are spending money to get better. And other than Donaldson, who has injury concerns, this is the crap the Braves are putting out through the media:

Nobody wins championships going cheap. and that's what the Braves are doing. Again. If they won't spend money, they'll waste the prime years of guys like Acuna and Ozzie. They are paired with the best 1st baseman in baseball right now, and he isn't getting younger. They need to win now. Building is over. But instead, they've signed Markakis and McCann and remain league average or worse at 4 spots in the lineup and have yet to do anything to improve at pitching either.

You are correct! Braves will be lucky to finish 3rd in division!

Would you rather waste a 4 year scholly on someone who may be iffy or one year on grad transfer and get the scholly back to use again next year?

Not worried about 85 limits, just annual. Can always save them for a monster 2020 class, which I expect with Bailey gathering the Georgians. They shall ride north and help us protect the wall from the wildbamalings.

It's not the way to build a program. Grad transfers are beneficial in spots, but they are transfers for a reason. We need to recruit and develop.

I know stuff about things and things about stuff. Relief pitching is always fluid. You live in the past and you end up signing Mike Hampton.
